Joel Up Front Posted August 7, 2012 Share #101 Posted August 7, 2012 They can take the overpass at Mineola just fine, though...
Orion VII 4 Life Posted August 8, 2012 Share #102 Posted August 8, 2012 It's not a matter of how they perform, it's that no other NICE bus has a ZF transmission.

Joel Up Front Posted August 28, 2012 Share #104 Posted August 28, 2012 Give it frameless windows and the interior + ride of our 2011 NGs with non-transverse rear seats and we'd be all better off. Knowing Veolia... maybe not.
Burrstone Posted August 28, 2012 Share #105 Posted August 28, 2012 Can buses from the option be altered or must they have the same/similar specs?
SevenEleven Posted August 28, 2012 Share #106 Posted August 28, 2012 Can buses from the option be altered or must they have the same/similar specs? I think they can change the specs as needed. The 1800s were an option off the 1700s. As you can see, they were spec'd, top bottom.
RailBus63 Posted August 30, 2012 Share #107 Posted August 30, 2012 Can buses from the option be altered or must they have the same/similar specs? They can be altered. CNYRTA's 2010 order of Orion VII NG's was off a WMATA option from their order of first-generation O7 CNG's.

Joel Up Front Posted August 30, 2012 Share #110 Posted August 30, 2012 Whatever they did with the Orion Vs, they did right. I still think the folding doors look tacky as opposed to the "standard" ones. I still wonder why all of the Orion Vs used Alcoa rims as opposed to the steel ones the city had. I liked those. I ride the N20 every day now to get to Old Westbury... I greatly underestimated how badly the Vs take the hills in Roslyn. Are buses any good at engine braking? N4 Via Merrick Rd Posted August 31, 2012 Share #111 Posted August 31, 2012 I like those trolley or quadruple doors on the O5s.

User Posted September 19, 2012 Share #114 Posted September 19, 2012 OK, I'll bite, how come ? There was a little delay in the order due to the craziness going on at Orion.
compobus fan Posted September 19, 2012 Share #115 Posted September 19, 2012 There was a little delay in the order due to the craziness going on at Orion. And thank you for that, any chance we will see the LED's ??
User Posted September 19, 2012 Share #116 Posted September 19, 2012 And thank you for that, any chance we will see the LED's ?? The specs are said to be similar to the NGs, but we don't know the exact specs, so anything is possible. Also remember that NICE is getting the last Orion VII 3G CNGs produced. Long Island will make history for that!
RailBus63 Posted September 19, 2012 Share #117 Posted September 19, 2012 Centro's 3G CNG's are still coming in, so that may be the reason for the delayed NICE delivery.

KeystoneRegional Posted October 3, 2012 Share #125 Posted October 3, 2012 I guess I'll be out in Nassau too, this is the most highly anticipated order in my stance. Even better considering I have few additional great photo op spots to go to!
