jgood6195 Posted December 16, 2012 Share #277 Posted December 16, 2012 Man, I just dying to see a newer Orion V CNG in the new scheme. They could really use a repaint.
PinePower Posted December 16, 2012 Share #278 Posted December 16, 2012 Man, I just dying to see a newer Orion V CNG in the new scheme. They could really use a repaint. I agree. Since most of the 1600s are here to stay for awhile they should. Many of them still ride better than those 1700s and those funky seats!
N4 Via Merrick Rd Posted December 19, 2012 Share #279 Posted December 19, 2012 I agree. Since most of the 1600s are here to stay for awhile they should. Many of them still ride better than those 1700s and those funky seats! I hate those rock hard seats on the 1700s and they can get cleaner too. Do all wrapped buses have the white stripe on top of the bus (bottom of CNG tank) and all painted buses all orange? Yes the WRAPPED buses have a spot of white all over the bottom of the CNG tank. 1712 got the repaint nice and shiny.

dmouse Posted December 22, 2012 Share #284 Posted December 22, 2012 Here's 1814 Finally wrapped. Yes wrap not paint
jgood6195 Posted December 22, 2012 Share #285 Posted December 22, 2012 I forgot that #1760-1839 are MTA's buses and #1700-1759 are Nassau's (or so they say).
User Posted December 22, 2012 Share #286 Posted December 22, 2012 Finally wrapped. Yes wrap not paint Just a little tip, you can look at the numbers above the front doors to see if the bus is wrapped or painted. If the bus is painted, the numbers will be italicized. I forgot that #1760-1839 are MTA's buses and #1700-1759 are Nassau's (or so they say). Don't start this again please. Look at other threads to get the real answer, and don't start the conversation again. You have been warned.

dmouse Posted December 22, 2012 Share #288 Posted December 22, 2012 Didn't pay that close attention to detail Another way to tell wrap from paint is the white vinyl under the orange compared to the dirty white body
jgood6195 Posted December 22, 2012 Share #289 Posted December 22, 2012 You would think they would at least wash their buses before adding that!
Amtrak7 Posted December 22, 2012 Share #290 Posted December 22, 2012 Why are they repainting wrapped buses instead of painting the blank 1700s?
jgood6195 Posted December 22, 2012 Share #291 Posted December 22, 2012 Not sure. I guess it depends on what is in the depot at the time.
Joel Up Front Posted December 22, 2012 Share #292 Posted December 22, 2012 If I had a dollar for every time I saw 1833 (still unwrapped), I'd have one dollar.

Turbo19 Posted December 28, 2012 Share #294 Posted December 28, 2012 So have any buses that have been wrapped originally been painted? And if so, will they all eventually be painted?
User Posted December 28, 2012 Share #295 Posted December 28, 2012 So have any buses that have been wrapped originally been painted? And if so, will they all eventually be painted? No, only the other way around. Buses that were originally wrapped were painted later on. The paint looks much better.
jgood6195 Posted December 28, 2012 Share #296 Posted December 28, 2012 Any reason for the 2011 NG CNGs not being painted?
N4 Via Merrick Rd Posted December 28, 2012 Share #297 Posted December 28, 2012 (edited) 1713: Repainted and blue stripe removed. So is 1711,1708 they were repainted. Any reason for the 2011 NG CNGs not being painted? I guess they are busy with the 1700s being painted Edited December 28, 2012 by N4 Via Merrick Rd

Joel Up Front Posted December 29, 2012 Share #300 Posted December 29, 2012 I thought they did that one already. Oh well.... 1820 and 1833 were the 2011 NGs that NICE refused to wrap for whatever reason.
