Greensboro, N.C. (September 22, 2011) - Setra, a brand of Daimler, is pleased to announce that the Martz Group has ordered seven Setra ComfortClass S 407 motorcoaches. This is the first Setra purchase for the group, based out of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

“The Setra brand represents a well built, well made product for our commuter runs from Wilkes-Barre to New York City,” stated Craig Smith, chief executive officer for the Martz Group. “It is a solid bus for what it is intended to do.”

Underneath the Setra ComfortClass S 407’s sleek exterior style lies substance—featuring a roomy cabin with flush mounted interior lighting in the ceiling, and comfortable seating that holds passengers in style. Special amenities onboard the motorcoach include onboard Wi-Fi and power inverters installed throughout for passengers to recharge electronic devices and laptops.

The Setra ComfortClass S 407 in the Martz fleet will sport a fuel efficient Mercedes-Benz OM 471 engine with BlueTec technology backed by an optional ZF AS Tronic 12 speed auto stick transmission. The Setra ComfortClass S 407 also features Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) to reduce harmful emissions and environmental pollutants. In addition to a durable power train, the Setra ComfortClass S 407 also features automatic traction control, cruise control, and a pneumatic telescoping driver’s steering wheel.

The new Setra fleet is custom built from Setra’s production facility in Ulm, Germany. Delivery will start in late September from Setra’s North America corporate headquarters in Greensboro, N.C.

Once delivered, the ComfortClass S 407 coaches will become part of the Martz’s fleet at its headquarters in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

“What better customer to launch a large order of the new ComfortClass than the Martz Group,” said Patrick Scully, chief commercial officer for Daimler Buses North America. “The ComfortClass by design is a workhorse and Setra is ready to show its success within the grueling transportation demands of the Martz Group.”
