Railfan Trip on the 7 (6/13/08)

I regularly take this line, so I just decided to railfan it...

 

Trip Highlights -

from 96th St to 59th St

to Times Square

to Main Street

to 74th St - Broadway

 

My Feet

 

The Switch just north of Hunters Point Station

 

Around the curve after leaving Hunters Pt.

 

S/B Train Entering 45th Rd - CHSQ

 

Crossing over to the express track - This is the area that was worked on and forced the line to close early last year

 

We caught up to the local in front of us at 46th Street, as well as a S/B local

 

Another local passes by shortly, at 52nd Street

 

The switch work south of 74th street that was placed earlier this year. Long switch isn't it? If you look closely you can also see the GT35 timer.

Now for two video questions. How do I record them so that they have sound? They save in .avi format. Also, how can I set the max time? Right now it's set to 60 seconds. Thanks in advance to anyone who has the answers.

Nice pics!! Most likely your camara doesn't have sound. You would have to buy a camara with sound. Not all camaras with video mode have sound.

You beat me to the "nice shoes", I was going to use that.

 

I forget what commercial that was from, but at least I remember the tag line.

Might be Nike for Bo Jackson.

 

Anyway, very nice pics. When the kids (mine, that is) go back to school in September, I hope to do some serious RFing.

Nice catch with the blue seated R62s... and nice pics too. It'd be great to catch the even rarer R62s that apparently have benches instead of buckets... but I have never witnessed them.

Thanks! The is a great line and it's great I live right by it. Soon I'm doing a "Stations of the line" photo thread because many of the stations got new paint jobs, Shea Stadium is getting renovated, etc.

So that's why they painted it red. I'm not noticing anything else though.

Not yet, when the stadium is finished. I really like what they did the red though. It looks kind of out-of-place but it fits and gives the station a better look.
