1996 NovaBus RTS Buses 9140, 9142-9149

How I miss these buses! They were unique in that they had used a different engine than all the rest. While the typical MTA RTS used Detroit Diesel engines. 9140 and 9142-9149 used Cummins engines, which made them sound like New Jersey Transit's RTS buses. I enjoyed listening to those engines. Now, I wonder why the MTA chose to retire these unique buses first... B)

They were odd balls, 9141 had the Cummins M11E engine as well but was repowered. This is why they were gone so fast.

 

But you can forever enjoy it in your ears @ TTMG (t t m g: Media Group Studio...Sound Recordings (Buses)).
