CenSin Posted March 31, 2012 Share #26 Posted March 31, 2012 If you're using an ISP like Optimum Online (which I'm going to switch to due to the lack of FiOS in my area), I believe they offer fair Wi-Fi coverage around the city. You might not need a data plan for your phone or tablet (or just get the cheapest plan possible); just connect with Wi-Fi and you save a lot of money by rolling your data costs into the cost of your ISP. Grand Concourse Posted April 3, 2012 Share #27 Posted April 3, 2012 @keystone, thanks. I don't think I would need the 4g plan as at most I'd be on vacation 3 weeks in a whole year. So if it's just wifi only, I'm fine with that. I use my wifi provided by fios. I also have a wifi router that I used to use (because the optimum service I had in 2005 didn't have a wifi device at the time). @censin, I used the optimum wifi a few times, but the signal was pathetic. I would get a good signal for maybe 2 min and then the signal drops off and dies. Not very useful, imo.
