Sorry I asking so much questions I am a new bus rider because I lost my car, I take n20

Everyday & I MISS my car dearly:

No Problem I became a frequent bus rider years ago when I lost my car. Have since got another car. I ride NICE sometimes to get to the subway but there is usually something that triggers me to drive to the subway for several days or weeks after each NICE incident lol.

I got my license in September but since I don't have my own car, guess what I'm stuck on.... believe me, no one could make riding a bus here tolerable.

My grandmother wants me to move to move to great neck but now that I don't have a car I'm really nervous bc knowing how bad the nice bus Service is, for one to live on li you def need a car, on another topic my grandmother wants to come to flushing to visit family but she is in wheelchair but she's a sweet lady we are both worried bout the n20 bus accepting her as a passenger, I would want to put her on a new orange bus with the floor lift, not the back door lift, does anybody know a good time? I wouldn't wanna do it in rush hour bc it's too much I was thinking maybe 10 or 11am thanks for your advice and I am going to google li bus union it sounds like a nice group of people who watch over nice bus lines.

Q12 should go to great neck most people

From flushing on n20 go to great neck

They do, perhaps they should make it extremely large, or add it to the announcements.

.

The LIBRU is just a group that likes to complain.

Not always. Most of them take NICE bus daily. There's no way to avoid LIBRU because LIBRU members live all Long Island and works at Fed Ex Hicksville, Stop & Shop Hicksville, Westbury, Garden City, Pt. Washington, Long Beach, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, Woodside/Jackson Heights/Langton(Queens)

We planning another Guiness Record Attempt challenge riding NICE Bus and Suffolk County Transit zigzaging across from 165th St Bus Terminal to Montauk Lighthouse for 2-day trip either July or August including n88 bus ride. Suffolk County Bus fares, your train fare and hotel stay will be covered by Long Island Job with Justice.

The number of the orange NGs with the front lifts far outnumber the old Orion Vs with the back lifts.  You have a 90% chance of getting an NG or newer these days.

NICE bus ends at western portion of Suffolk County, where NICE Bus connects to Suffolk County Transit buses.

MetroCard passengers could request paper transfer to connect to City of Long Beach Bus N69 Pointlook at Long Beach, then Suffolk County Transit/HART Buses at Suffolk County or Sunrise Mall in Massapequa, including near Adventureland, Farmingdale, etc.

Yeah I take Nice bus now, I don't have a choice, but most of the time the farebox cant even read my metrocard & the driver tells me pay in coins, I say its a unlimited metrocard, why would I pay in coins? I helped a older lady get off N20 yesterday on Sandford, the was old skinny lady with big shopping card that weight like a bowling ball, and engine on old nice bus sounded really bad & Noisey, it was a old bus with sign N20 in green, why N20 in green?

I believe that's the original green color on all Orion V CNG's before some of them were upgraded to bright orange. Almost all NICE buses have orange signs, the ones that still have green signs are on the Orion V CNG's(most of them). Orion VII NG's has the orange signs and most of the Orion V CNG's has orange signs too. I know I am not suppose to mention this on NICE thread but (MTA) New York City Bus has mixture of original green signs and bright orange signs. (MTA) Bus has only the bright orange signs.

What does the Long Island bus riders union actually do?

Other than complain?

That's a good question...

Just like all BRU around the United States, we fight to get better bus service.

Most of LIBRU are true NICE Bus riders because it started as Cindy when she was vice president of Save Long Island Bus.

Speaking of mta, a few years ago I saw a mta bus on N20 looked like old q66 limited bus

That green destination sign will upper level N are buses that came from Foothill Transit in California.

Does anybody know how to post a picture to this? Today lady sitting in back of bus drinking beer and talking loud she looked terrible, she yelled at older male gentleman too

You have to have image acount like tinypic, imageshack, photobucket, or facebook account.

Then upload your photo.

Photobucket and tinypic, well as imageshack give your photo with IMG links.

From Facebook, click right click on picture, then at forum if you're at "More Reply option on forum, click on picture with tree and paste your link.

For example:

It also happened yesterday on 1:08pm n35 Baldwin Bus when I  got on Post Av/Maple Av and drunk lady told me it was soda, but it was actually beer. She was crazy lady and one man sleeping in back of her didn't like her. I was afraid there was going to be fight, but fight didn't happen. One of passenger heading to RFM got off at BJ Club because he couldn't stand crazy beer lady and male B/O warned her as he approached RFM.

This was old event we did

Some drivers are afraid they'll be assaulted, so they wouldn't want to do anything.

On long time ago, no onne on crowded n6X bus ride help B/O when lady with her daughter assaulted female B/O over missed local bus stop but she couldn't because she was express bus (ltd version of NICE).

Type of NICE Bus:

X trips on n4X/n6X, n22X: It's LTD version of NICE Bus, only stop at major transfer point and city line area.

n20L Limited: Limited trip skips Great Neck Station, Rosyln Village (Mineola Av and Clock Tower and all buses enter NYIT.

Loop Buses that goes around loop. During rush hour, all n20 bus between Hicksville and Flushing operate as n20L Limited.

n2/8 Floral Park: n2 goes clockwise Floral Park Loop and n8 goes counter clockwise.

n57 Great Neck Loop: AM Loop goes clockwise and PM Loop goes counter clockwise.

n62 Freeport Loop: Except for ASCHA Loop, just like n57, they go easier clockwise or counterclockwise in rush hour.

Is there an updated version of the NICE bus map PDF somewhere? The one on the website is dated April 2012.

I don't think they'll update the map.

Can Long Island bus rider union ask nice bus to schedule

More n20 buses exp on weekends, there is a lot

Of people riding it, once a hour on a Saturday is unacceptable

Thanks

No. Veolia which operates NICE Bus has lack of funding from Nassau County and state from Albany.

Hi famous, why would Nassau lack funds to the nice bus? people need to get around long island, not everybody has a car. long island is one of the richest places, plenty of people who live on long island take the bus and reply on it, can long island bus union ask for more funding? now I see the long island bus union fights hard to save bus and its line, I say thank you famousny for your hard work.

Most of the rich people don't ride NICE Bus and don't care about it...

And from what I read on here LIBRU don't have no real clout to make any real changes, its kinda like the Straphangers campaign in the city

I could give you set of bus schedules I got from public hearing.

Most of car folks don't know n21 bus doesn't run on weekend.

Today when I was stopping by at Flushing-Main St, people still waiting for n21 into Glen Cove.

Most of Glen Cove businesses don't know n21 is weekday route only.

It's because Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano only cares for rich people.

If Suffolk County Steven Ballone took bike on his Suffolk County Transit Bus or Mayor Blasio took subway ride, he need to do same by taking his police escort to nearest bus stop like crowded n4, n6, n40/41 bus to his office to see how riders feel about NICE.

I had no idea n21 doesn't run on weekends, thanks for the kind advice, n21 should run on weekends the ridership is out there. N20 is a very bus line the time between buses should be 10 minutes, if you check q12 is average every 10 minutes & n20 maybe one per hour I heard stories riders have up take q12 to little neck & walk to great neck at night time Long Island should invest In the private nice bus system there are riders who come from queens and travel to Long Island mostly for work & to go to jones beach concerts and to shop at Roosevelt but I thank Long Island bus riders union for there help in trying to get more nice buses, they should come to Roosevelt av first stop on n20 on a sat or Sunday exp at nite time & see the long lines people are paying $2.75 and they expect a fast on time bus that runs every ten minutes
