Recommended Posts

Gorgor, NB Park Row is closed from Broadway.

Yeah I know. I rerouted the M9 via southbound Park Row and then to Barclay where it turns right on Church to Worth.

NEXT (true scenario, happened a few years ago)

Because of a crane collapse, 1st Avenue between 91st and 92nd Streets are closed off to all traffic. Reroute the M15, M31, and M86 buses.

I remember that! So....

M15 & M15+SBS+: Left at 86 Street to 3rd Avenue, up 3rd Avenue to 96 Street, right on 96 Street, then left at First Avenue.

M31 & M86: Temporary loop at 86 Street: 86 Street > York Avenue > 87 Street > 2nd Avenue > 86 Street.

I have no scenario, you can do another one.

Ok, have another one:

Coney Island Stillwell Ave Term is closed, Surf Ave from West 5th to West 17th is closed, Neputne is closed from Cropsy to Ocean Pkway, Mermaid Ave from Stilwell to West 33rd due to several accidents. And there is Q train shuttle service from Kings Hiway to Coney Island.

B82: via Cropsey Av, straight on W17 St, right on Surf Av, terminate. Then right on W19 St, right on Neptune Av, left on Cropsey Av and regular route.

(Q) shuttle: Buses will either operate to Ocean Pkwy or Coney Island.

Buses to Ocean Pkwy:

via regular route, terminate at W5 St, right on W5 St, right on Brighton Beach Av, regular route.

Buses to CI:

via regular route, right on Av U, left on Stillwell Av, right on 27 Av, left on Cropsey Av, straight on W17 St, right on Surf Av, terminate. Then right on W19 St, right on Neptune Av, left on Cropsey Av, right on 27 Av, left on Stillwell Av, right on Av U, left on Ocean Av and regular route.

Q4 buses operates along Archer Avenue,Guy R. Brewer Blvd, Liberty Avenue, and Linden Blvd

Q5 buses operates along Archer Avenue, Guy R. Brewer Blvd, RTE 27 to Green Acres Mall

Q42/Q83 unaffected

Q84 buses operate along Archer Avenue, Guy R. Brewer Blvd, liberty Avenue, and 120 Avenue during the time

Q85 buses operate along Archer Avenue, Guy R Brewer Blvd, Baisley Blvd, Bedell Street, then regular routing

N4 Northbound: From City Line and Merrick Blvd , right on Hook Creek Blvd, which turns into Ocean Avenue, which turns into Elmont Road. Left on Hempstead Turnpike, left on Springfield Boulevard, right unto Hollis Avenue, left on 195 street then right on 109 Avenue, which turns into Brinkerhoff Avenue. Right on liberty Avenue, right along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard, left on Archer Avenue, then regular route.

N4 Southbound:Regular Route until Guy R. Brewer Boulevard/ Archer Avenue, then right on Guy. R Brewer, left on RTE 27 (Frontage Roads), then enter the Belt Parkway before 184 street. Buses can exit the Parkway at the 135 Avenue Exit. From there turn left unto Brookville Boulevard, then right on Merrick Blvd, and regular route. If the buses can't go on the parkway then let them stay on the frontage Road to Brookville, make a left, then make a right turn on Merrick and Regular Routing.

In a Map these buses would look awfully Wierd, especially the N4 diversion. The Northbound Path takes streets in Hollis ( Central OF Queens), while the Southbound goes through southern Queens. Gorgor, can you possibly make a map for this diversion to see what it would look like if you can. I understand if you can't.

Next Scenario:

Jamaica Avenue was exploded. Divert ALL Buses through. Hillside, Jamaica, Archer, And Libery Avenue would be closed from Suthphin Boulevard to Farmers Boulevard/190 street/188 street.

No buses can pass through the Area.

forgot about the 9....

anyway, that stipulation is too vague; don't know what "surrounding streets" you're referring to.....

In any case, the only one I'm gonna do is the 100, since that would be the route that would be permanently affected.

B100... from mill basin, buses would continue on Av T. between mill & flatbush.... then up flatbush to fillmore, then regular route.....

I've added a "What If?" map here for what would happen if the Queensboro Bridge was closed off. Even though the Q32, Q60, and Q101 would most likely just terminate on the Queens side of the bridge, I decided to reroute them so that they reach their correct terminal, as I'll do with any future scenarios I choose to map.

Next one on my list is the closing of the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, and then the Verrazano Bridge.

About your map: The Q32 is supposed to serve 5th & Madison Avenues; that's one of the purposes of the route. "What say you?"

Next Scenario:

You might want to check a map, a NYC road map (or Google Maps). And why would the M23 take side streets south of Park when everything's clear until 1st?

- No way to go south on the FDR from Waterside Plaza

- There's no 24th Street between 1st and the FDR

- There's no 14th Street exit/entrance from the FDR

Nice try and good job participating though! :o

I was debating whether to send it to Penn Station or send it up Madison to 57th then down 5th. I'm not familiar with ridership patterns on Queens buses, but do most people who take it use it to get to Penn Station or just to get to Midtown?

NEXT WHAT IF:

There was a massive accident resulting in several cars being nearly totaled in the intersection of 85th Street and 5th Avenue.

Most Q32's going in to Penn are empty, so I would assume people are getting off in Midtown.
