metsfan 2 Posted July 4, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2008 Here's some photos of (NJT) stuff from july 2nd. I am going to include 2 shots of platform & an alp-44 as viewed from inside an amtrak train here, because they highlight (NJT) not amtrak. Some weird guy laying down doing... Septa stuff too! Back to (NJT)! Why are these cars so white? No center doors. More government data found at a train station! To avoid being charged for an overweight bag, jane decided to do some last minute luggage alterations.. After deciding to quit smoking, tom went to visit his mom for 4th of july... in his wake he left the only thing in his pockets as to not be tempted! Can you hear me now? Some kinda old bracket? An annoying small bird that all most hit me in the face & legs.. Fixtures of a bygone era of the (NJT):nec:... Retired tickets... Something from a train? Cracked ties.. How the hell did this get far, far back on track 5? I rarely get on a train that stops here.. AND! for the finale.... something i have NEVER seen before!! Hope you enjoyed! - Andy

metsfan 2 Posted July 4, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted July 4, 2008 I should learn about NJT, these pictures has made me want to take a ride on one of thier Railroad lines. Loving the photos! Thanks! (NJT) history & operations is really interesting. Most of NJ is actually open, forrest, and farmland, and of course beach!. A lot is spread out & far apart, which is why (NJT) rail is a no-brainer for getting people places. I'd start with a trip to trenton, then a trip to bay head, then a trip to hackettstown. Hackettstown is really nice. It is also global HQ for M&M mars company. If you get a chance also check out princeton & its little ole line. The princeton branch actually used to have more stations, as with all of the current & future (NJT) rail lines. Researching the history really connects the beginning of rail into the future & reactivation of lines etc. Pretty amazing stuff. - Andy

metsfan 2 Posted July 8, 2008 Author Share #7 Posted July 8, 2008 Very nice shots! I really like the third one. Thank you! It's always a craps shoot to end up across from where the locomotive stops because some trains are in push mode, some in pull mode, and the train lengths very a lot. I'm glad i finally got a full side shot of the ALP-46. My favorite shot of an ALP-46 however is one i've been using for my desktop for 2 months...... The coolest part is that a few minutes later i got on this train to newark! - Andy
