Request A Map!

Request a Map

---------------------------------------------------------

If you have an idea for a fictional bus route or have an idea how to change a current bus route, then you can request a map of it right here! Before posting, read through this entire post so that there's no confusion later on.

Maps will be uploaded to my website, which can be found at: scaped.net/m/YOUR_USERNAME/ROUTE. So for example, if I request a map for my fictional M38 bus route, it would be at scaped.net/m/Gorgor/m38. If you request multiple bus routes for one map, the URL will be of the first route mentioned in your post.

Important Info:

  • It will be on a map of Manhattan. You may request a bus route that travels to an outerborough or anywhere else, but you will only receive a map of the Manhattan portion.
  • You must give exact turn by turn directions. Example: "Start at 5th Ave/57th Street going east, left onto Madison Ave, right onto 79th Street..."
  • If there are any nonstop segments that you want to appear on the map, include the following in your turn by turn directions: "Start nonstop segment" and "End nonstop segment"
  • If you want stop locations/SBS locations on the map, you must give exact intersection locations. Example: "86th Street/1st Ave"
  • You may request more than one bus route to be on one map, but don't go crazy.
  • You are allowed to request as many maps as you want, but you may only have one open request at a time.
  • Maps may take up to a week to make depending on my schedule, so be patient. If it's been over a week then a friendly reminder is perfectly fine.

And lastly, please include which color(s) you want your route(s) to appear as from the color choices below:

Liking this already! :D

One of mine will be the M13, from the Lower East Side to the Yorkville Hospitals section at 72nd Street and York Avenue!

To get to the hospitals (northbound):

1. Turn from FDR to Grand Street.

2. Turn on Lewis Street.

3. Turn on Delancey Street.

4. Turn on Aleen Street.

5. Past Houston, Allen Street becomes 1 Avenue.

6. Turn on East 72 Street. Terminates at 72nd and York Avenue.

To Grand-FDR:

1. Turn from 72 Street to York Avenue.

2. Turn on 57th Street.

3. Turn on Houston Street.

4. Turn on Allen Street.

5. Turn on Delancey Street.

6. Turn on FDR. Terminates on FDR and Grand Street.

Edit: Forgot the color. Make it dark blue, please! :D

Here you go! http://scaped.net/m/...CNG_Command/m13

(You didn't specify what street the M13 would use between 57th Street and E Houston Street, so I just assumed you meant 2nd Avenue)

No, you got it correct. ^_^

Lemme do a couple of more. :D

M49: 42nd Street/49th Street Loop. Weekdays only; light blue. Structure is as follows:

1. Turns from 42nd Street to FDR.

2. Turns on FDR to 41st Street.

3. Turns on 1st Avenue.

4. Turns on 49th Street.

5. Turns on 12th Avenue; stops at the 42nd Street Pier.

6. Turns on West 42nd Street; keeps traveling until the corner of East 42nd Street and FDR Drive.

M50: 50th Street/42nd Street Loop. Weekdays only; light green. Structure is as follows.

1. Turns from 42nd Street to FDR.

2. Turns on FDR to 41st Street.

3. Turns on 1st Avenue.

4. Turns on 42nd Street.

5. Turns on 12th Avenue; stops at the 42nd Street Pier.

6. Turns on West 50th Street.

7. Turns on 2nd Avenue.

8. Turns on East 42nd Street; keeps traveling until the corner of East 42nd Street and FDR Drive.

I'd like one:

I'd like a map an M5/M7 route.

I would like to just see the M7 extended via the M2 route to 179 street and the M7 extended to Houston Street as well via 6/7 Avenues. I'd like to see the M5 mormally. I just want to compare the routes. Can I also get the Q32 in the same map but extended to 23 street via 5 and Madison

Read the entirety of my first post and post again using those guidelines.

Give me exact turn by turn directions for the extensions you requested. I have no idea what "extend the M7 via M2 to 179 street" means... the M2 doesn't go north of 168th Street.

So, you took my suggestion? ;)

I think this should be in the original art & music section, but i'll let a mod make an official decision about that...

I would like to request 2 routes.

Northbound:

Start Route:

Starts on South St, left to Pike Slip, continue to Pike St, continue to Allen St, left on Canal St.

Full time terminal. Begin part time segment.

Right onto West St, right onto 11 Avenue, left onto 24 Street, left into bus lane terminal.

End part time segment. End Route.

Southbound:

Start Route. Start part time segment.

Starts on West St, right onto Canal St.

Start full-time segment.

Right onto Canal St, right onto Allen St, continue to Pike St, right onto South St, terminate at South Ferry.

End Route.

M28: Crosstown via 28/29 Sts.

Westbound:

Start Route:

North on Waterside FDR Service Road, left onto 34 Street, left onto 2 Avenue, right onto 29th St, right onto West St/12 Avenue, right onto 34th St, terminate.

End Route.

Eastbound:

Start Route:

East on 34th Street, right onto 11 Avenue, right onto 33 Street, left onto West St/12 Avenue, left onto 28 Street, right onto 2 Avenue, left onto 23 Street, left onto Waterside FDR Service Road, terminate.

End Route.

I'd like both routes on the same map. Thank you in advance.

Oh, colors:

M24: Light Green.

M28: Purple.

I'll get to the maps shortly, but LEAVE THIS THREAD IN THIS SECTION. Not only is it just for requesting maps, but people can see different route ideas. This isn't "art" or "music," as that forum title suggests, but this is definitely about New York City Bus, as this forum title suggests. Plus I never go to that other forum and would probably just forget about this thread, or barely check it due to my somewhat forgetful nature.

You might want to read over your M24 directions.

- After the northbound route makes a left onto Canal, where does it terminate?

- From West Street, I assume you mean left onto Canal rather than right.

- South Street is one way down by South Ferry, how will the northbound portion operate?

You should consult Google Maps when you edit it.

1. Canal/West Street.

2. Yes, I do.

3. Actually, it's two way, the bus will turn around in the loop by the Governor's Island ferry terminal.

Consult the area around this mark: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=213458373195564989412.0004bcbb350e1efc7b026&msa=0&ll=40.701887,-74.012087&spn=0.00231,0.002055

Ok. I thought by the first post you meant that the bus would turn around inside the M15's South Ferry terminal. I'll start working on the map later tonight or tomorrow, whenever I get a chance.

Take a look around the City Hall area with Google Maps. Northbound traffic on Park Row is forced to make a right on Frankfort (or continue straight on Park Row to Bowery). Also, there's no southbound traffic on Park Ave S between 42nd and 41st Streets.

I checked Google Maps, there is southbound Park Avenue S traffic in that area. (Also, CBS 2010 is quite accurate.)

Oh, i'd like it to be in red.
