Al Qaeda still after N.Y.C., NYPD chief Ray Kelly warns

The ominous graphic posted on terrorism websites suggesting an Al Qaeda attack is yet another reminder that New York City is the No. 1 target for terrorists, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Tuesday.

“It’s not tied to any threat,” Kelly said. “But it’s obviously a cause of concern.

“It reminds us that New York is still very much on their (terrorists’) minds.”

The graphic, which depicts the New York skyline in movie-poster style, crossed the NYPD’s radar early Monday.

Not a shock. Even with the 1st year anniversary upcoming since OBL was killed, there still many people who hate America and thus NYC will sadly always be among the biggest target for terrorists worldwide.

Not that profiling is justified, but since the main threat is from radical Islamists, people* have to stop crying foul over the wiretapping and stuff. The people that knocked down the Twin Towers were muslims from Saudi Arabia. In WW2, things were far worse after the bombing of Pearl Harbor where FDR rounded up Japanese Americans into prison camps and pretty much confiscated all their belongings. So wiretapping, [though unfortunate], is still better than mass imprisonment.

The primary reason why Radical Muslims want to attack our city is because NYC is the capital o Capitalism. Does that sound a bit familiar to you? Of course it should the Radical Muslims are against not just Democracy but the idea of Capitalism.

Not just capitalism, they won't stop until the entire world is converted to accept their warped religion. It doesn't help that Iran and Saudi Arabia are the worst for allowing extremism to brew out of control. In an ideal world, those two countries would be at war with each other and take care of the world's extremism problems.

The risk is too great so we can't do that either.

Dude, If the U.S were to ever nuke Mecca, Loads of innocent people will die in the vicinity . Mass hatred will be on the U.S. We don't need anymore. The U.S won't stoop down to their level.

Christianity hasn't exactly been too lovely over history -- Crusades much? If you're judging by events over history, your perspective gets warped. Don't judge Islam by the acts of a few lone terrorists. So let's not talk about "nuking the religion [islam] from the face of the Earth."

 

Lastly, this whole article is just a Ray Kelly wet dream: something to wave around as evidence of terrorism, "justifying" spying on more Muslims and taking away more civil liberties. Best thing we can do is ignore it.
