Pablo M 201 Posted July 6, 2008 #2 Posted July 6, 2008 Yup, the annual Gladstone summer bustitution. I should've rode the Gladstone the last few weeks out to Gladstone. Now all I got is the rush. NJT also still has the Boonton Line bustituion til August. I would imagine Lakeland is handling both bustitutions.
metsfan Posted July 6, 2008 Author #3 Posted July 6, 2008 What exactly are they doing? I was thinking they might be replacing some of those large transformers at substations & new transmission lines. - Andy
Pablo M 201 Posted July 6, 2008 #4 Posted July 6, 2008 What exactly are they doing? I was thinking they might be replacing some of those large transformers at substations & new transmission lines. - Andy I know they're doing substation work. Also working on the CAT on the line.
metsfan Posted July 6, 2008 Author #5 Posted July 6, 2008 I know they're doing substation work. Also working on the CAT on the line. I really want Amtrak to re-work the catenary on the (NJT):nec: to allow faster train speeds and fewer problems, especially between trenton and metropark. However, i don't want the HORRIBLE schedule changes that would result from this. I talked to a (NJT) driver the other day, and he said work would begin to replace the entire catenary system along the NEC between philadelphia and new york by 2020 if not earlier in some spots.... I guess we'll see on budget proposals when they plan to start.... - Andy
