Very informative:

Service Change

There are delays and service changes on the (7) and <7> line because of signal problems at Queensboro Plaza.

The Department of Subways seems to have an annoying policy of manufacturing fake "signal problems" just to generate overtime for train crews and maintainers.

There are delays and service changes on the (2)(3)(4) and (5) lines in both directions between Manhattan and Brooklyn as we investigate the cause of multiple trains having their brakes activated through the area of President St. Manhattan-bound (4)  and (5)  trains are operating on the local track in Brooklyn. For service into Brooklyn, consider using nearby lines. We will update with more information as soon as it becomes available.

Earlier this morning one (5) train got stuck at Nostrand Junction according to the MTA... Now it's happening to multiple trains?

Bronx-bound (5) trains are making local stops from Franklin Av to Atlantic Av, and some may run over the (2) and (3) lines from Atlantic Av to 149 St-Grand Concourse, as we investigate the cause of train brakes being activated through the area of President St.

Southbound (A) trains are running express from 59 St-Columbus Circle to Canal St.

Southbound (E) trains are running express from 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal to Canal St.

These service changes are because of an investigation at 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal.

For downtown service at 23 St and Spring St, take an uptown (A)(E) train to West 4 St-Washington Square or 34 St-Penn Station for a downtown (A)(E) train.

There's currently no (2)(3) service between Chambers St and New Lots because of fallen wires at Nevins St.

Switches at Wall Street for turning trains… and somehow they couldn’t be used to get the trains as far as Park Place or Fulton Street for a transfer to continue to Brooklyn.

Latest Installment...

Service Change

There is no (2) and (3) train service between Chambers St and New Lots Av in both directions.

Some southbound (2) trains will end at Times Sq-42 St.

Some southbound (2) trains are stopping along the (5) line from 149 St-Grand Concourse to Bowling Green.

Some southbound (4) trains are running local from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to Crown Hts-Utica Av.

UPDATE:

Service Change

There is no (4) train service between 149 St-Grand Concourse and Burnside Av in both directions because of a tree branch on the tracks at 161 St-Yankee Stadium.

As an alternative, use nearby Bx1 or Bx2 bus service or (D) train service stopping along Grand Concourse.

Service Change

There is no (6) train service in the Bronx because there's an unauthorized person on the tracks at Brook Av and power has been removed. We hope to have service running soon.

All that shutdown for one person?

Not sure what happenend but it was a good move to have the (5)s running local manhattan bound. It seems the trains got stuck in a way that it blocked all Rogers junctions trains and they couldn’t take that risk during the rush . They said the train in the morning lost power . I wonder if the air conditioning shut off.I hope not.also many times when a train goes BIE in the same area multiple times Probobaly it’s a signal/rail/switch problem . In this case they had to change the service to avoid more problems.

Well, what do you expect them to do?

In all honesty, I'd expect them to use a little more intuition in these shutdowns. If the incident is at Brook Av, the only section where power should be turned off is between 3 Avenue (or 125 Street if necessary) and Hunts Point Av. Everything else should left alone. Shutting down the entire Pelham line seems excessive.
