If the incident is at Brook Av, the only section where power should be turned off is between 3 Avenue (or 125 Street if necessary) and Hunts Point Av. Everything else should left alone. Shutting down the entire Pelham line seems excessive. Thank you! Exactly my point.

Maybe perhaps of that, trains from the north couldn't terminate at Hunts Point Avenue. Usually when somethung happens on that section, Hunts Point Avenue is used as a southern terminal for Pelham shuttles.
Abba Posted July 9, 2018 Share #5354 Posted July 9, 2018 Tonight there was no Service on 4th ave in Brooklyn from about 8:45 to around 9:30 pm or so. Was crazy the platform at Atlantic Ave southbound was dangerously packed. The worst part was that no announcements were made . At least if announments were made people would know to get an Uber etc...

Let’s say Grand army plaza and train power off. Do they have to turn power off on the local tracks or also the express as well? Via Garibaldi 8 Posted July 12, 2018 Share #5365 Posted July 12, 2018 (edited) Another subway meltdown this morning. I decided to take the train this morning. Waited and waited and waited. Finally a train comes. The train is packed by the time it gets to 137th. At that point, I get off knowing that there are trains that start at 137th. Just as it looks like the train is going to close the doors and take off, there's an announcement that the train is going out of service, so now the entire platform is PACKED and sweltering. Well I didn't stick around. I got the hell out of that station. I could see at 135th and Broadway that the trains were either crawling or just sitting. After three buses and three trains, I finally arrived to my office half hour late. To add insult to injury, there was no announcement as to what was going on, NOR anything on the website about service. I'm assuming that the loss of power on the in the Wall street area that was mentioned on the Status page affected the line?
