Delays  Posted: 11/02/2018 12:04PM

Northbound (B) and (Q) trains are running with delays because of signal problems at Prospect Park.

Not mentioned:

Some NB (Q) trains are running via Sea Beach & 4 Avenue (bypassing DeKalb)

------------------------------------------------------

Wonder what the (G) is doing?

Service Change  Posted: 11/02/2018  1:46PM

Northbound (F) trains are running express from Church Av to Jay St-MetroTech because of an injured customer on the tracks at Smith-9 St.

Expect delays in (F) and (G) train service.

the (G) trains are probably holding in stations (stacked up from 4 Av to Church Av) and southbound service suspended south of Bedford-Nostrand Avs (even though Bergen St could be used to reverse due to the no northbound (F) local service)

Due to track maintenance at the 14th Street Station:

Select uptown (2) and (3) train service is running express from the 14th Street Station to the 34th Street-Penn Station.

Select uptown (2) train service is running on the (5) line from the Nevins Street Station to the 149th Street-Grand Concourse Station.

In addition, due to signal problems at the Gunhill Road Station, select uptown (2) train service is running express from the E 180th Street Station to the 219th Street Station.

Please expect delays on the uptown (2) and (3)*train service at this time.

Planned Work

242 St-bound (1) trains run express from Chambers St to 14 St

I saw the 2 latest up as local at 59th Street getting to the (A).

I don't think there is track switches around 219 Street

Due to a train derailment at Prospect Park, this results for (B) and (Q) trains going in single- rail pattern. (B) trains toward Brooklyn will go via the (D) line to Coney Island, and (Q) trains will go via the (N) and (W) to Gravesend- 86 or CI. While (D) ,(B) , and (N) trains going via 4th Avenue Express, (Q) trains will go local to 59th Street.

Due to a fire on the Manhattan bridge on the (N) and (Q) side, the bridge was closed including the subway lines that run on this bridge.

(B) trains ran to LES- 2 Av.

(D) trains used the (F) line to go to CI

(N) trains used the (R) line to go to Brooklyn

(Q) trains ran every half hour due to many trains in the Montague Street Tunnel. They also used the (R) to CI. This resulted to some (N) trains signing up as (Q) trains to switch at DeKalb Avenue after they make a stop to the Brighton Line tracks. Some (B) trains were sitting in the layup yard at Ocean Pkwy. So, operators used those train as Local Shuttles. Costumers for advised to take a Prospect Park bound (B) to that station to transfer to the Franklin Avenue (S) to take to Botanic Garden to free transfer to the (2)(3)(4) or (5) to Atlantic Av. Then continue with their trip to Manhattan.

Due to track switching problems at Delancey Street for (M) trains, this resulted to (M) trains running in 2 Sections. (M) trains used 4 cars in Section B to Broad Street or some to Delancey Street. Due to overcrowded stations on the Myrtle Avenue Line, R179s from the (J) and (Z) were transferred to the Fresh Pond Yard for (M) service. Just to reduce crowding there were some (Z) Local trains.

Section A: Forest Hills 71 Av- LES- 2 Av.

Section B: Broad St- Metropolitan Avenue.

I see you're a new member.

Anyways, this thread is specifically for actual unplanned service changes, not fantasy ones. It threw me off when I didn't see anything of the sort on the MTA website (until I saw your previous please).

Expect the last one to evolve:

Service Change

There is no (D) train service between Norwood-205 St and Bedford Park Blvd in both directions because someone requires medical assistance at Norwood-205 St

Delays

(A) and Rockaway Park (S) shuttle trains are running with delays in both directions because of a mechanical problem with the South Channel Bridge.

Update:

Service Change

There are service changes and delays because of a mechanical problem with the South Channel Bridge

Far Rockaway bound (A) trains will end at Broad Channel or Howard Beach-JFK Airport.

Rockaway Pk (S) shuttle trains are running between Far Rockaway-Mott Av and Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St in both directions.

Consider using Q52-SBS or Q53-SBS bus service as an alternative.

We have a thread for scenarios like this that has been dormant for a while.

This is why I avoid QBL at all costs...that line always seems to have something going on. Also, what's the deal with always cutting the (M)? Like at least have the (M) operate to 96th St so that service levels on 6th Avenue remain the same.

The (W) was going up to 96 Street during that time. It's every 20 minutes, but those trains add up, along with the (M) and (Q) . The amound of merging onto the (Q) would back up (Q) service.
