Daniel The Cool Posted November 15, 2016 Share #4001 Posted November 15, 2016 In this particular scenario, that makes sense. riders could take the rerouted to connect to the Queens only at Broadway Junction They could just transfer at 14th Street for the or Fulton Street for the . There's no need for the to do that reroute.
Wallyhorse Posted November 16, 2016 Share #4002 Posted November 16, 2016 In this particular scenario, that makes sense. riders could take the rerouted to connect to the Queens only at Broadway Junction Exactly! This is why the would remain 480' trains, just in case this particular scenario comes up. They could just transfer at 14th Street for the or Fulton Street for the . There's no need for the to do that reroute. Disagree. It takes pressure off the and having the running south of West 4th via Broadway Junction in a situation like that.

Around the Horn Posted November 16, 2016 Share #4004 Posted November 16, 2016 What pressure? What is it with you wanting the to run via the to Broadway Junction? In this case, expecting and riders to pile on already crowded and trains, isn't a good idea without adding extra capacity. I agree that his to Broadway Junction fetish is ridiculous but this is the one time where I can see it working.

Wallyhorse Posted November 21, 2016 Share #4007 Posted November 21, 2016 Will nobody think of the 6 Avenue local? It’s trading frustration on the for frustration on the . Yes, but the in that situation gets many of the riders heading to eastern Queens over to Broadway Junction where they can then transfer to the to continue east from there and at least cut down on overcrowding on the and shuttle buses. That, BTW is also why I would in Phases 1-2 of extending ALL Eastern Division Stations to 600 feet first do all such on the and then do the same to Broadway Junction so the can operate as 600' trains at all times and the as a 600' train can also do so in an emergency.
Abba Posted November 22, 2016 Share #4008 Posted November 22, 2016 How come whenever they suspend the Franklin shuttle it's the whole thing? Can't they run something from prospect park to Botanic Garden or even Park place If let's say something happened at Franklin? Why should the whole line suffer?

Interested Rider Posted December 1, 2016 Share #4011 Posted December 1, 2016 Let me add this one to the "one for the books" crowd! Due to a problem at Steinway Street, M trains are running express from Queens Plaza to Jackson Heights Roosevelt Avenue R trains are running express from QUEENSBORO PLAZA to Jackson Heights - Roosevelt Avenue. It is painfully obvious that the one who is writing this information knows absolutely nothing about our system!

CenSin Posted December 10, 2016 Share #4022 Posted December 10, 2016 My Manhattan-bound went local stopping at Prince Street, etc. At 8 Street–NYU it seems there was a stuck on the express track at 12:25. Another one was on the downtown express track, but it moved at 12:27.
Interested Rider Posted December 10, 2016 Share #4023 Posted December 10, 2016 The MTA on its website just a couple of minutes ago is reporting a broken rail on the northbound express track at 8th Street as the reason that all northbound Q trains are running local from Canal Street to 34th Street.

At around 1:12 PM, it was still a problem. I wanted down there for 10 minutes but the crowd only got bigger. According to the announcements, trains were running via 6 Avenue. The problem might’ve been serious. I saw track workers in the field at 12:25 PM in front of a train packed with people. Does it really take that long to replace a broken rail? And one track being out shouldn’t cause too much trouble since the line has 4.
