Unplanned Subway Service Changes

Wow some pretty interesting service patterns here. I wonder what line is currently out right now. I know 6 Ave definitely is out.

I believe 6ave, 63rd Street and 53rd Street.  It appears as though everything else is fine.

Due to a loss of power at 7 Av, the following service changes are in effect:

Northbound  trains terminate at Atlantic Av-Barclays Center.

Southbound  trains are running on the  line from 59 St-Columbus Circle to World Trade Center  station.

 trains are running on the  line from Queens Plaza to Whitehall St in both directions and terminate.

 tains are running on the  line between Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av and Queens Plaza then over the  line between Court Square and Bergen St in both directions.

There is no service on the  line between World Trade Center and Queens Plaza in both directions.

There is no service on the  line between 21 St-Queensbridge and Jay St-MetroTech in both directions..

As an alternative, use  and  train service for service between Queens and Manhattan, as well as nearby 6 Av stations in Manhattan.

For service between Brooklyn and Manhattan, take  train service instead to nearby station stops.

Expect delays in  and   trains service in both directions.

Allow additional travel time.

 

From my perspective:

-6th Avenue is out

-53rd Street Tunnel is out

-63rd Street Tunnel is out

I’m glad I avoided 6 Avenue. Mechanical problems at 7 Avenue on the , at 36 Street on the / , and an uptown were the prelude to the major outage. I opted to run to the Broadway platform instead for the , but ended up taking the since the problem at 36 Street cleared up.

1. Between 205 St and 59 St-Columbus Circle then via the line to World Trade Center station

 

2. Between Coney Island and Atlantic Av-Barclays Center

The state of NYC Fire Wire Facebook that they are evacuating 1000 people at Lex-53 and over 250 at 34th Street Herald Square.  This must be some mess.

Due to a loss of power at 7 Av, the following service changes are in effect:

 

are running on the line between 59 St-Columbus Circle and Jay St-MetroTech then over the line from Jay St-MetroTech and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in both directions.

 

There is no service on the line between World Trade Center and Queens Plaza in both directions, trains are running on the line between Queens Plaza and Whitehall St in both directions.

 

trains are running on the line between Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av and 34 St Herald Square, then over the Subway line between 34 St-Herald Square and DeKalb Av, then over the line between Atlantic Av-Barclays Center and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in both directions.

 

There is no train service between West 4 St-Washington Square and Jay St-MetroTech.

 

trains are running between Bay Ridge-95 St and 36 St(Bklyn) in both directions.

 

Shuttle bus service is available between Queens Plaza and Roosevelt Island Stations.

 

As an alternative, use and train service for service between Queens and Manhattan, as well as nearby 6 Av stations in Manhattan.

Southbound A trains terminate at Jay St-MetroTech.

Northbound A trains terminate at Euclid Av.

Police are on-scene and investigating.

As an alternative, for service between Jay St-MetroTech and Broadway Junction, take B25 bus service making nearby stations stops.

For service between Euclid Av and Liberty Av, take nearby B14 bus service along Sutter Av making nearby station stops.

Expect delays in both directions.

Allow additional travel time

3 out of those 4 things are already happening Monday... because the subway will be running on a weekend schedule.

 

It'll just be like a GO is going on for Monday. I'm pretty sure everything will be back to normal on Tuesday, if not before.

I don't get why the can't terminate at Broadway Junction to at least offer connections to the . (Actually, this is the same discussion we had before about the Lefferts shuttle).

in latest update, they reminded everyone that monday is on sunday schedule.

All the changes from last night are done with, except the is not running between Broadway-Lafayette (2 Av) and Atlantic Av.

Well.. There might still be that R160 and R68 floating around out there, but otherwise everything's back as it should be.

My question exactly. This showed us the type of thing that it would take to send the over the . 

The would usually use the line, but since the was also blocked from the Brooklyn BMT via 6th Av. and could access only the from 8th Ave, while the could access the BMT via Bway, then it was easier to just swap them. 

 

So perhaps it's some work that takes out the entire 6th Ave. line. I know they're doing work on the switch at W4th, with new signals going in, so maybe it has something to do with that, though that wouldn't affect the express tracks.
