Service Change Posted: 09/29/2012 8:49AM

Due to a signal trouble at the Vernon Blvd- Jackson Avenue Station, there are no 7.gif train service from the Times Square-42 Street Station to the Flushing-Main Street Station in both directions.

Please expect delay in 7.gif train service at this time.

One Signal trouble caused the entire shutdown of the 7?!

The WHOLE LINE is down??? Since when did they do that?

You forgot something...

As an alternate LIRR is horning NYCT MetroCard at the following Stations: Met-Willets Point, Woodside and Hunterspoint Avenue.

Please expect delay in 7.png train service at this time.

Cool, use a Metrocard to get on the LIRR

What I don't get is, if the whole line is down, why they said "please expect delays in (7) train service at this time."

Isn't there NO (7) train service at this time?

The Weekender:

Due to A/C power related signal trouble at Vernon Blvd-Jackson Ave, 7.gif service is suspended between Main St and Times Square-42nd St in both directions. As an alternative, Long Island Rail Road is cross honoring MetroCards at Flushing-Main St, Mets-Willets Point, Woodside, and Hunters Pt Ave.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Monitor this page or Service Status for updates.

It's all because of an A/C???

Email alert history:

0827: No service TSQ-QBP

0850: Line suspended

1019: No service TSQ-QBP

Current:

Due to a signal problems at the Vernon Blvd- Jackson Avenue Station, there are no 7.png train service from the Times Square-42 Street Station to the Queensboro Plaza Station in both directions.

There is also shuttle bus service running from the 74 Street-Broadway to the Flushing-Main Street Station making all subway stops in both directions.

As an alternate LIRR is honoring NYCT MetroCard at the following Stations: Flushing-Main Street, Met- Willets Point,Woodside, Hunterspoint Avenue, Long Island City and Penn Station.

Please expect delay in 7.png train service at this time.

Why are the buses running next to the part of the line that is operational? And I seriously hope nobody's waiting for the LIRR at Mets-Willets, HPA, or LIC...

A/C power problem means commercial power is either out or reduced voltage.

See, this is exactly why people get frustrated with the MTA. These communication problems are atrocious. If the line isn't running, say the line isn't running. If it's running in sections, say the line is running sections and specify what said sections are. That info-dump that Amtrak7 posted above is a mess of unnecessary crap. The bus overlap shouldn't even be mentioned unless there is limited service running between Main St and 74 St. It gives the impression there's no service running between those two stations. And in the mess of info, there isn't anything about having the riders transfer to the E, F or R trains for service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, especially with the N being split up this weekend.

You must have been livid during the (D)(N)(R) shutdown.

Update:

- (7) still out TSQ-QBP.

-Shuttle train TSQ-5 Av

-Buses (and trains) are running 74-Main St

-LIRR still crosshonoring

Big problem: There is a GO this weekend cutting the 60 St tunnel between Lex and QBP!!!

The (E) is probably a madhouse right now. I feel bad for the people who have to get to Astoria.

I was gonna take the 7 shuttle bus today, but it didn't come, than an agent said the (7) is back to normal. All without notice. Oh and the 7 shuttle sign was in back of a business card.SMH.

Lance is correct that the information given out for unplanned subway disruptions (and I must add, it is no better with unplanned bus disruptions as well) is incorrect and in many cases erroneous. What is the purpose of giving out information to the public which is not correct? Is it for someone to say "look what i am doing" to justify their position? What this does is that it supports the theory that the agency's employees that write and approve the information being disseminated to the public are totally out of touch with the reality of the situation.

I am sorry but this will not change, now or in the near future.

This is rare:

Service Advisory

Due to early completion of weekend track work, (N)(R) resume regular service between 59th St - Lexington Ave and Queens. (Q) resumes between 42nd St-Times Square and 57th St-7th Ave.

I just got home 30 minutes ago. The (Q) at the Coney Island station still stated it was bound for Times Square.
