Service Change

There is no (M) train service between Delancey St-Essex St and Forest Hills-71 Av in both directions because of a rail condition between W 4 St-Washington Sq and 14 St.

As an alternative, customers can take the (F) train at Forest Hills-71 Av to Delancey St-Essex St for (M) train service or the (R) train for local service between Forest Hills-71 Avand Queens Plaza.

Our crews are on scene working to restore regular service. We will keep you posted.

Some southbound (F) trains are stopping along the (A) line from W 4 St-Washington Sq to Jay St-MeteoTech because of a rail condition at York St.

Expect delays on (A)(C), and (F) train service.

There was a NYPD investigation at 86th earlier that had (Q) trains turning at 57th. Why not 72nd? Lack of a tower op somewhere?

My first thought would that the power was off in that section.

I wouldn't think it would be an issue of Tw/O since 72nd is almost certainly on the NX panel at 96th or City Hall Master. Ever since the 80s transit has avoided interlockings that require direct, local control.

Subway time Dosent know that (E) can go to 168 so they just call it (C) to Jamaica Center.Same with (Q) to Forest Hills.also 2weeks ago the (B) ,s to 96 were labeled (Q) To whatever that (B),s  original destination should have been (145 or BPB).Southbound they were labeled (Q) Brighton Beach.

So what is the difference when trains are rerouted during GOs vs unscheduled reroutes like this? How does it know where trains are going? Does the t/o control the bluetooth things on the train or is it done centrally? I dont know 100% how it works in the B divison.

Also another thing I noticed .When a trip ends early the next trip In the other direction will show where the previous trip  was supposed to end. Like Now it shows (J) broad st  near Gates Ave .The destination is really “Jamaica Center” but it’s labeled as Broad st.

It knows Whwre that train was supposed to go and in some cases the system can’t display the exact train like it will not show (R) at 86st on (Q) for example. But it will show the (R)’s destination (Forest Hills) as (Q) . Why -I have no idea.

I believe RCC has to refresh the run interval to adjust for the new route. If they don't, you'll see instances like this where trains bound for new terminals are still labeled as the original destination on the app/clocks/etc. You see these errors more often that not on unplanned service changes because trains are generally rerouted on the fly. For the scheduled service changes, the expected route is already programmed for the run interval and is thus correct for train's route from origin to destination. Hopefully as they get more accustomed to the tracking system, these mislabeling errors will diminish.

Because it can't be a Monday without something happening (I knew today was too good to be true)...

There is no Franklin Av (S) train service in both directions because of signal problems at Botanic Gardens.

Travel alternative: Passengers can take B48 bus service stopping at nearby  stations.

Our crews are on the way to make repairs. Stay tuned for updates.

B Subway and D Subway trains are stopping along the A Subway line in both directions between West 4 St-Washington Square and 59 St-Columbus Circle.

Southbound B Subway and D Subway trains are stopping along the F Subway line from West 4 St-Washington Square to Coney Island-Stillwell Av and end.

Some southbound F Subway trains are stopping along the E Subway line from Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av to Queens Plaza, then over the G Subway line from Court Square to Bergen St.

Unbelievable. And this is the same 6 Av Line that has undergone full weekend shutdowns and southern route swaps on the (D) and (F)? Sounds like a can of worms was opened when they decided to tackle on this work.

They really need to have a full week just to work on that dam switch. No (B) or (C) service at this time. (F) via 8th Avenue. (D) via 8th Avenue.

The work CAN be done if they hire more work crews to assist in the repairs (more hands on deck).

and you’d need to preserve Close to normal service outside the work zone.
