Amtrak706 Posted July 18, 2018 Share #5386 Posted July 18, 2018 There are currently about 10 full size fire trucks at all the 181 St entrances and delays going uptown. MTA.info says this is due to an “investigation”. Anyone know what happened?

Honestly hats off to whichever dispatcher thought of this -- flexing the reverse signalling/absolute block capability. The NYCT I know would suspend service north of 168.

Also most of the underriver tunnels have some level of reverse functionality. I had heard that in areas without true reverse signaling you can operate as an absolute block between entry/exit switches. Is this true?

You can but these days they wont let it happen Unless there is a emergency... Also hooking down stop arms will have to be needed or the train will go BIE every time.
