Abba Posted November 29, 2012 Share #551 Posted November 29, 2012 True but the post said "some 7 trains" I believe. So unless there is a train using the express track a that time.they can quickly send one Manhattan Bound through.
6 Lexington Ave Posted November 30, 2012 Share #552 Posted November 30, 2012 Service Change Posted: 11/30/2012 3:33PM Due to mechanical problems at 155 St Station, Downtown trains are running express between 161 St-Yankee Stadium Station and 145 St Station. Please expect delays in train service at this time. I wonder what they mean by mechanical problems because on twitter it said "debris on the tracks".

There is a GO where downtown trains are skipping 167, 161, & 155 Sts b/c of maintenance.

Mr Railfan Posted December 2, 2012 Share #558 Posted December 2, 2012 Since this morning there have been no or trains between Prince and Dekalb because of track maintenance on the bridge. Where are the trains relaying? I'm about to go out that direction and need to get into Manhattan on the , and i'll be sure to report how and where they relay trains. My guess is they relay either at Jay street with the or Dekalb.

Worth noting I don't know for sure, but I'll bet it's a follow up from yesterday's incident. Since, well, that's a murder investigation.

paulrivera Posted December 8, 2012 Share #565 Posted December 8, 2012 Anyone know what happened with the Lex during the PM rush? I heard there were "residual delays" on the but I was at Grand Central NB around 5:00 and there was a OOS train (an R142 with no route designation) that was seemingly behind a red signal/stalled/tripped/gapped/crapped out(?) short of the station on the express track. I was there for about 5 minutes, but since the height of rush hour was starting I didnt bother to hang around to see the railroad blow up because I really wanted to go home. I went downstairs for the then the uptown and got the hell out of Midtown. I even got a seat by 145th, lol.
RestrictOnTheHanger Posted December 8, 2012 Share #566 Posted December 8, 2012 It said a rail condition at 125th downtown.
Mysterious2train Posted December 8, 2012 Share #567 Posted December 8, 2012 There was a broken rail on the local track, causing all service to run express from 125th St to 42nd St. Needless to say, it was complete chaos. Really great timing there.
Snowblock Posted December 8, 2012 Share #568 Posted December 8, 2012 There was a broken rail on tk 1 just south of 125. My got rerouted down the West Side, and they were sending/turning Lex trains all over the place.

Snowblock Posted December 13, 2012 Share #573 Posted December 13, 2012 Yep, I've done it before. Express from 148 to 96 means bypassing 135 St by wrong railing from 142 to south of 135 and then going through the middle pocket to 125.
CenSin Posted December 15, 2012 Share #574 Posted December 15, 2012 How does this even work? Aren't the express tracks not continuous? Eastchester-bound trains run express from E 180 St to Dyre Av... more Weekend, 8 AM to 2 PM, Saturday, Dec 15 For service to Morris Park, Pelham Pkwy, Gun Hill Rd and Baychester Av, take the to Dyre Av and transfer to a Bowling Green-bound . For service from these stations, take the to E 180 St and transfer to an Eastchester-bound .
Art Vandelay Posted December 15, 2012 Share #575 Posted December 15, 2012 No, they are contiguous. They were reinstalled for the testing of the R142/As in the late 1990s/early 2000s.
