Delays  Posted: 12/29/2018  4:01PM

(A) trains are running with delays in both directions because of an earlier temporary loss of power at Broad Channel

Service Change  Posted: 12/29/2018  4:01PM

Southbound (E) trains are stopping along the (F) line from West 4 St-Washington and ending at 2 Av because of switch problems at World Trade Center.

Expect delays in (E) and (F) train service.

Stay tuned:

Service Change

Northbound (Q) train service will end at 57 St-7 Av because a person was struck by a train at 96 St.

UPDATE:

Service Change  Posted: 12/29/2018  7:06PM

Northbound (Q) train service will end at 57 St-7 Av or 72 St because a person was struck by a train at 96 St.

As an alternative for service to missed stops, customers may use (N) or(R) train service from 57 St-7 Av to 59 St-Lexington where they can catch M103 local bus service making nearby station stops.

Please see a station agent for a courtesy pass for continuing train or bus service.

I'd say this is what all these dogs in the subway are causing. In the future, this will be more common. Expect this to evolve:

Delays  Posted: 01/02/2019  9:33PM

Metropolitan Av-bound (M) trains and Jamaica-bound (J) trains are running at slower speeds due to a dog on the tracks on the Williamsburg Bridge

UPDATE 1:

Service Change  Posted: 01/02/2019  9:52PM

Some Essex St-bound (M) trains and Broad St-bound (J) trains will end at Marcy Av as our crews work to safely retrieve a dog on the tracks of the Williamsburg Bridge.
Please expect delays in (J) , (M) and (Z) service.

Based On Subway Time:

(M) Train service is running only between Myrtle-Broadway and Metropolitan Avenue.

UPDATE 2 (10:23 PM):

The service change is back in effect. The MTA is getting backlash from Twitter for the erroneous info (turns out they are still looking for the dog, and never caught it).

Delays  Posted: 01/02/2019 10:16PM

Correction:(J) and (M) trains are delayed in both directions while our crews work to safely retrieve a dog from the tracks on the Williamsburg Bridge

UPDATE 3 (10:25 PM):

From a hidden twitter reply, power is being cut off. There is no (J) or (M) service between Manhattan and Brooklyn. Service is running as follows:

(J) : 121 Street to Marcy Avenue

(M) : Myrtle-Bway to Metropolitan Avenue

It's unknown if (J) shuttle trains are running in Manhattan at this time.

UPDATE 4 (10:33 PM)

Based On Subway Time:

(J) trains will only run between 121 Street & Broadway Junction.

Update on the above:

Service Change  Posted: 01/02/2019 10:53PM

There is no (J) and (M) train service in both directions between Broad St and Hewes St while emergency teams retrieve a dog on the tracks on the Williamsburg Bridge.

Broad St-bound (J) trains will end at Hewes St.

Essex St-bound (M) trains will end at Myrtle Av.

For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, take the (A)(C)(L) trains.

I think the (J) trains that originate at 121 St will be always shown to end at Broadway Junction because of an earlier comment that crews are changing at that station (similar to how the (D) from 205 St shows to Bedford Park Blvd due to crew changes). Not sure if that has been updated.

I hope passengers weren’t  stuck

There were a lot of passengers stuck in trains in both directions. Some of the replies are scattered throughout the twitter thread.

In any case, service has resumed:

Delays  Posted: 01/02/2019 11:16PM

(J) and (M) train service has resumed with delays after the NYPD was able to safely 'collar' a dog that was on the Williamsburg Bridge

This was one gigantic mess.

It also seems they actually moved a train back in order to retrieve it .tough situation for those on those trains . This is why many times I bring a radio scanner so at least I’ll know what’s going on .

Isn't it illegal to listen to MTA frequencies now?

What channel do I put the radio scanner on? Can I use my phone as a radio scanner?

There goes the QBL!

MTA Service Status

Service Change  Posted: 01/04/2019 12:44AM

There is no (E) and (F) train service in both directions between Queens Plaza/21 St-Queensbridge and Forest Hills-71 Av because of a switch problem at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av.

As an alternative, take  trains, Q53+Q60Q66 and Q101 bus service.

Northbound (A), (B), (C), and (D) trains are moving at slower speeds between 59th St and 145th St as our crews repair a malfunctioning switch near Norwood-205 St.

There is reduced (D) train service from Norwood-205 St to Bedford Park Blvd because of this switch malfunction.

Expect delays in (D) train service in both directions in the Bronx.

Consider using Bx1 or Bx2 bus service on Grand Concourse for alternate service. Please see a station agent for a courtesy pass for continuing subway or bus service

Southbound (M) and (R) trains are making express stops from Roosevelt Av-Jackson Hts to Queens Plaza because a train's brakes were automatically activated at Steinway St.

Expect delays on southbound (E)(F)(M), and (R) trains.
