Unplanned Subway Service Changes

Yep...the (7) and (L) are real shit shows this evening! Got caught up in the madness at 74th St, after trying to get to Queens, first on the (F) at Lex/63rd (which was also delayed), then on the (R) at 57th/7th. And on a Mets game night of all nights, so you know the platform at 74th was extra-packed!

(D) trains have service changes and delays because of a work train experiencing a mechanical problem on the Manhattan Bridge.

Coney Island-bound (D) trains end at 2 Av on the (F) line.

Bronx-bound (D) trains are running along the (Q) line from DeKalb Av and ending at 34 St-Herald Square.

Transfer between (D) trains at 34 St-Herald Square.

For service to/from Grand St, use the nearby Delancey St-Essex St (F)(J) station.

Some Coney Island-bound (N) trains are stopping along the (D) line from 36 St to Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

For service into Brooklyn, take a Coney Island-bound (F) train to 4 Av-9 St for a Coney Island-bound (D) or (N) train.

(2) and (4) trains have service changes and delays while crews work to correct a switch problem south of Nevins St.

The last stop on Brooklyn-bound (2) trains is Chambers St or Wall St.

The last stop on Brooklyn-bound (4) trains is Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall or Bowling Green.

For service into Brooklyn, consider taking a Coney Island-bound (N) or (Q) train to Atlantic Av-Barclays Center for continuing (2) and (4) train service.

There are delays in (A) and (C) train service after earlier incidents, including FDNY activity at 59 St-Columbus Circle, automatic brake activation at 81 St, and after we investigated reports of a disruptive passenger at 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Welp...

There is no (2) or (3) train service between 96 St and Harlem-148 St or 149 St-Grand Concourse in either direction while we remove third rail power to apprehend an unauthorized person from the tracks at 110 St.

Some northbound (2) and (3) trains are running on the local track and ending at 96 St or 137 St-City College

All other (2) trains are rerouted via the (5) line between Nevins St and 149 St-Grand Concourse

Kicking off the service change rather early, no? *shot*

In all seriousness, I hope that wasn't some sort of suicide attempt.

That explains the (C) I saw running express SB and the cross platform (A) to (D) transfer I had going back home NB (the (D) was on the local at Columbus Circle and it waited for the (A) to arrive and depart in order to go express. Weird but it worked in my favor.)

The (A) usually does get priority over (D) because its awesome.

There is no northbound (N) and (R)  train service in Queens while we work to correct a switch problem between 59 St and Queensboro Plaza.

For service into Queens, consider taking an (E)(F) or  (7) train at this time.

Please see a station agent for a courtesy pass for continued service.

That was one of the quickest switch fixes ever. By 9:05 PM, service resumed in both directions.

You may experience longer than expected wait times for southbound (E) and (F) trains service after NYPD responded to a disruptive passenger at 21 St-Queensbridge.

I was on the incident train yesterday, it sat in the station for about 10 minutes with no announcement. The T/O blew the police assisitance signal on the horn. Luckily NYPD was in the platform booth on the other side (there is usually a NYPD booth at stations that border river tubes). Apparently it didnt take too long to get the person off because we were soon on the way.

Im guessing the incident either backed up the QBL express or forced a few (F) trains to go via 53rd, hence the alert.
