The situation has not improved much. What's worse is that the (Q) and (R) trains are starting to get rerouted onto 6th Avenue.

Multiple Impacts  Posted: 10/15/2019  9:25PM

There are service changes and delays on (A)(B)(C)(E) and (F) trains because of a Con Ed power problem affecting our signal system at West 4 St

Southbound (A) trains are running on the local track from 145 St to Canal St.

Some southbound (A) and (C) trains are running along the (D) line from 59 St-Columbus Circle to 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Center, then on the (F) line to Jay St-MetroTech.

Southbound (B) trains are running on the express track from 145 St to 59 St-Columbus Circle.

Some southbound (E) trains are running along the (F) line from Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av to West 4 St-Washington Sq.

Some southbound (F) trains are running along the (G) line from Queens Plaza to Bergen St.

We appreciate your patience while we work with Con Ed to restore regular service.

For some reason they decided that rerouting an (M) onto 8th was a good idea... there was one just sitting at Port Authority, stuck in the conga line on the SB local track.

Also,

Delays

Expect longer wait times in (D) and (G)  train service in both directions while we work to correct a signal problem at 14 St.

Part Suspended

We're temporarily suspending (M) service between 96 St and Essex St-Delancey St because of a Con Edison power problem affecting our signal system at West 4 St-Washington Square.

For service between 96 St and West 4 St-Washington Square, consider taking (F) or (Q) train service.

To think that every B division line in Manhattan is currently limited to the 6 Avenue trunk.

According to SubwayTime, there is a 168 St-bound (C) on the 6th Ave line approaching 34 St-Herald Square and a Euclid Ave-bound (A) approaching 34 St-Herald Square in 3 mins. Had there ever been a time when 8 subway lines ran on one line before?

Also at 47-50 Sts, there seem to be three consecutive Met -bound (M) to arrive within 5 mins.

Apparently it's so bad that they're actually sending a couple of (Q) and (R) Trains on its regular Broadway route according to their Twitter. Last time I heard of something like this was back in 2012 when an (E) Train caused a power outage during the 6th Avenue Fastrack.

I'm assuming that in those cases, the trains only made drop-offs. I did see the (R) readings on Broadway and 59th Street stations past midnight.

Trains Rerouted

There are service changes and delays in (A)(B)(C)(D) and (E) train service because NYPD has requested that we remove third-rail power at Utica Av.

Southbound (A) and (C) trains are running along the local track from 145 St to Canal St.

Southbound (B) and (D) trains are running on the express track from 145 St to 59 St-Columbus Circle.

Southbound (E) trains are running on the express track from 42 St-Port Authority/Bus Terminal to Canal St.

These reroutes are interesting.

The (F) were probably running over those two lines during the W 4 St ConEd outage last night, thus the delays.

Was that to accommodate more (A)(C) on local stations in Manhattan as a result of third-rail power loss in Utica Av? Otherwise, I don't see how that would solve anything.

It probably isolates the problem to (A)(C) only so (E) don't get delayed by having 3 services all on 1 track. That's my guess.

Multiple Impacts

There are delays and multiple impacts to service on the (B) and (Q) lines while our crews work to cut away and remove a tree limb that fell across the tracks near Avenue U.

Some southbound (B) trains are stopping along the (F) line from W 4 St-Washington Sq and ending at 2 Av

Southbound (B) trains are stopping along the (D) line from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to Coney Island-Stillwell Av

Southbound (Q) trains are stopping along the (N) line from DeKalb Av to Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

Some southbound (Q) trains are ending at Canal St

For service to/from bypassed stations, consider using northbound (B) or (Q) train service.

Southbound (F) train service is ending at Church Av while our crews work to correct a signal problem at 18 Av.

The last stop on some northbound (F) trains will be Kings Hwy

For service to/from Stillwell Av, consider taking the B68 bus.

There are multiple delays and impacts to northbound (N) , (Q) and (R) service while we investigate an ongoing signal malfunction that caused a train's brakes to activate at Times Sq-42 St.

Based on Subway Time:

NB (Q) and (R) trains are running via 6th Avenue.

Multiple Impacts

There are delays and multiple impacts in northbound (F) and (M) train service because of an issue with the third rail at Broadway-Lafayette St

Some northbound (F) and 71 Av-bound (M) trains are running express from Broadway-Lafayette St to 34 St-Herald Sq

Some northbound (F) trains are stopping along the (A) line from Jay St-MetroTech to W 4 St-Washington Sq

Some northbound (F) trains are running along the (G) line from Bergen St to Court Sq, then along the (E) line to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av.

Some 71 Av-bound (M) trains are stopping along the (J) line from Delancey St-Essex St and are ending at Chambers St.

Northbound (6) trains are resuming local service in Manhattan after NYPD apprehended disruptive passengers at 23 St who vandalized multiple trains.

Expect delays as service resumes.

There are delays and multiple impacts on (J) and (M) trains while we work to correct a switch problem at Myrtle Av.

There is no (J) train service between Myrtle Av and Broadway Junction in both directions.

(M) trains are delayed between Myrtle Av and Metropolitan Av.

See a station agent to request a free courtesy pass for alternate bus/subway travel options.
