Part Suspended  Posted: 03/29/2020  5:39PM

There is limited (M) train service available in Queens and Brooklyn. (M) trains are running as a shuttle in both directions between Metropolitan Av and Myrtle Av

We are running as many trains as possible with the crews we have available.

For service to/from Manhattan, take a (J) train.

For service to/from the Upper East Side, take a (Q) train.

1 Positive result pretty much nukes a terminal. So there's one positive case and 27 additional quarantines.

yeah that (C) train got f**ked up because a conductor got COVID-19, so everyone in contact with him in quarantine.

I know the (5) used to terminate at Atlantic Ave station and that was messy as it was with the track/switch layout, but the (1) coming in and terminating on the local tracks? That must be an even bigger mess...

More likely it’s using the crossovers after Nevins St to term on the express platform.

Is this a sign more people have caught Rona, or just out because the numbers have jumped?

Ridership has plummeted to just about 700,000 daily riders, from a normal 5,500,000 daily riders.

As for current service, as of this post:

(3)(4)(L)(Q) - reduced essential service

(6)(7) - no express service

(A) - local service all the way, no Rockaway Park service

(D) - local in Bronx

(E) - no service to 179 Street

(F)(G)(J)(M) - every 20 minutes

(As for the SI Ferry, does anyone if the Austen class boats are being used all day?)

They’re using the Barberi and Molinari classes during the day to facilitate social distancing but only the low and main decks are being used.

The MTA needs to give up on Express service writ-large (perhaps QBL excepted) and cross honor on MNR/LIRR to get people off the subway for as long as possible.

That won't do too much. The railroads' locations are often too inconvenient for a simple replacement.

(N) trains run every 40 minutes between Queensboro Plaza and 86 St in Brooklyn as part of MTA's Essential Service Plan.
