Huh?

Part Suspended Posted: 05/11/2020 11:32PM

There are delays and multiple impacts in (2) and (4) train service after someone was struck by a train near 149 St - Grand Concourse.

(4) train service is temporarily suspended in both directions between 149 St - Grand Concourse and 125 St.

(2) train service is suspended in both directions between Chambers St and Atlantic Av - Barclays Ctr.

For service along Lexington Av line, take a (6) train.

For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn use an (N) or (Q) train.

Makes no sense.

(E)(F)(N)(Q)(R) at Lex-63rd. Imagine if the (M) was still running to 96th Street.

TRAINS REROUTED  Posted: 05/03/2020 12:44PM

There are delays and multiple impacts to (N) and (R) trains in both directions because we removed third-rail power so FDNY can respond to a report of smoke at Lexington Av/59 St.

There is no service on the (N) line between 57 St - 7 Av and Queensboro Plaza in either direction:
-In Manhattan,  trains are running on the (Q) line between 57 St - 7 Av and 96 St in both directions.
-In Queens, (N) trains are running as a shuttle between Queensboro Plaza and Astoria - Ditmars Blvd.

(R) trains are running on the (N) line in both directions between 36 St (Queens) and Lexington Av/63 St and on the (R) line to/from 57 St - 7 Av. There is no service on the (F) line between 57 St - 7 Av and 36 St (Queens).

Expect delays in (E) , (F) , (N) , (Q) and (R) service in both directions.

Alternatives:

For service between Queens and Manhattan:
-Use (7) service: In Manhattan, transfer between (N)(R) and (7) trains at Times Sq - 42 St. In Queens, transfer between (N) and (7) trains at Queensboro Plaza. Transfer between (R) and (7) trains at Jackson Hts - Roosevelt Av
-Take rerouted (N) trains to/from Lexington Av/63 St, where (F) and rerouted (E) and (R) service is available.

For service to/from Lexington Av/59 St, use Lexington Av/63 St, where (Q) , and rerouted (N) / (R) service is available.

For service to/from 5 Av/59 St, travel to nearby 57 St, where rerouted (N)(R) service is available.

For service along the (N) line in Queens between Queensboro Plaza and 30 Av, consider using Q102 bus service.
-From 39 Av - Dutch Kills, consider taking Q104 buses to/from 46 St - Bliss St .

I didn't see anything where this involving 53 Street so the (E) and (M) has nothing to do with this scenario.

The (N) would have had to terminate at Times Square, like it does on weekends when the (N) is suspended between Manhattan and Queens

PART SUSPENDED  Posted: 05/20/2020 10:51PM

There is no (4) service between 149 St - Grand Concourse and Woodlawn because someone was struck by a train at 170 St.
If you’re waiting for a train in the Bronx, take a (D) train.
If you’re waiting for a Brooklyn-bound train on the East Side of Manhattan, here are your options:
Take a (6) train to Broadway-Lafayette St for (D) service.
Take a (6) train to 14 St - Union Sq, then take an (N)(Q) or (L) train. You can also take the (L) train to 6 Av, then transfer to a (2) train.
Take a (6) train to Fulton St, then transfer to an (A) train or (2) train.

Multiple Impacts

There are delays and multiple impacts to (C) train service while we work to correct a signal problem near Chambers St.

Some southbound (C) trains will run on the (F) line from W 4 St - Wash Sq to Jay St - MetroTech.

Some southbound (C) trains will run via the express track from 59 St - Columbus Circle to Canal St.

For missed stations, take a northbound local (C) or (E) train.

Local To Express

Southbound (C) trains will run on the express track from Hoyt - Schermerhorn Sts to Euclid Av while we work to correct a switch problem near Hoyt - Schermerhorn Sts.

Transfer to a northbound (C) train for skipped stations.

Could this have been intentionally set?

If I had to take an educated guess, I would say "yes," however, as always, we have to wait until the results of an investigation are released, respectfully.

In addition, as per the guidelines, can we please stay on-topic and not off-topic?

Thank you.

Structure Failure Posted: 6/2/2020 10:09 AM

Due to  parts of the Northern IRT Broadway Line  structure falling by the 231 Street station, there are no (1) Train service from 242 Street to 215 Street.

All (1) Trains terminate at 215 Street every day starting at 9 PM to 5:30 AM until August 18th.

Where did you get this? I don’t see it on the MTA homepage. It still says:

Quote

(1) trains are running approximately every 5 minutes between Van Cortlandt Park - 242 St and South Ferry.

I don't need to "get it" anywhere, read the forum title.

Actually, you do, since this thread is to notify of actual subway service changes. - Deucey

Route 9, aka Broadway, will be closed during these times. Traffic must flow on Riverdale Avenue, or Bailey Avenue

For service to the Bronx, please use  Bx7, or Bx20 buses.

BUS REROUTES:

Bx7: buses will run to the Bronx, but will turn on 225th Street and run on Bailey Avenue, making no stops, and turn onto 231st Street.

Bx20 buses will run to the Bronx, but will turn onto 225th Street, and run on Bailey Avenue, making no stops to turn on 231st Street.

Bx9: Buses will run on Broadway from 262nd Street, all the way to 238th Street, making ALL Bx10 stops along Bailey Avenue, then proceeding to its regular route along Kingsbridge Road.

I see no hint of this anywhere.

You've been told before that this thread is for real unplanned service changes, either posted on the MTA website or through its social media accounts. This is not the place for scenarios you made up. Use the Create your own G.O thread for these types of things.

Well, the subways as we know it is starting to return:

MULTIPLE IMPACTS  Posted: 06/08/2020  3:36PM

There are delays and multiple impacts in (4) , (5) , and (6) train service while FDNY conducts an investigation at 14 St - Union Sq

Some northbound (4) trains will end at Atlantic Av - Barclays Ctr.

(5) trains are stopping along the (2) line from Nevins St to 149 St - Grand Concourse in both directions.

Some southbound (6) trains will end at 3 Av - 138 St.

Expect delays in (2) , (3) , (4) and (5) train service in both directions.

Customers are strongly advised to consider taking alternate subway lines until we can restore regular service along the Lexington Av line.

SOME REROUTES  Posted: 06/10/2020  8:41PM

Because we are temporarily unable to move switches at Euclid Av while our crews can take the necessary precautions for COVID-19, the following service changes are in effect:

(A) trains are running on the local track in both directions between Broadway Jct and Euclid Av.
(C) trains are running on the express track in both directions between Broadway Jct and Euclid Av.
