How many times is this going to happen? Clearly there is an issue in the 60th St tubes and a G.O has to be created to fix it...

Clearly, but now on the contrary, a weeks-long (7) train GO is coming, which requires not only the (N)(R) to be running normal, but also the (W)

PART SUSPENDED  Posted: 01/06/2021  3:29PM

(N), (Q) and (R) trains are delayed and/or rerouted while we investigate a loss of power in the tunnel between Manhattan and Queens.

(N) and (W) service is suspended between 57 St-7 Av and Queensboro Plaza.

(R) trains are rerouted via the (Q) and (R) lines in both directions between 57 St-7 Av and 36 St in Queens.

For service between Manhattan and Queens consider taking nearby (E)(F)(M) and (7) train service.

If it becomes an issue when the Flushing line is out, I imagine they'll issue an emergency order for repairs in the 60th Street tunnel while Flushing work is delayed to facilitate this.

And then there'll be some signal/switch issue first thing in the morning once the G.O. is done.

Also to note, there are multiple NB (R) trains operating via the (B) from DeKalb to West 4th, then via the (M) from West 4th to Queens Plaza

(Q) train service is part-suspended and rerouted while emergency teams respond to someone who was struck by a train at Ocean Pkwy.

There is no (Q) service between Kings Hwy and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in both directions.

Northbound (Q) trains are running on the (N) line from Coney Island-Stillwell Av to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.

For service to/from bypassed stations, consider using southbound (Q) service, or visiting a station agent to request a free courtesy pass for local bus service to nearby (F) or (N) stations.

Expect extensive delays to (N) and (Q) service in both directions.

There is extremely limited (7)  service between 34 St-Hudson Yards and Queensboro Plaza while we work to move a work train experiencing mechanical problems at Grand Central-42 St.

Hudson Yds-bound <7> express service is suspended in Queens.

Main St-bound service will operate on the Hudson Yards-bound track from Times Sq-42 St to Hunters Point Av.

Some 34 St-bound trains will turn back toward Main St at Woodside-61 St or Queensboro Plaza.

LIRR is cross-honoring MetroCard holders at no additional charge at Flushing-Main St, Woodside-61 St and 34 St-Penn Station.

Transfer to the (E), (F), (M) or (R) at 74 St-Broadway or to the (N) or (W)  trains at Queensboro Plaza for service to/from Midtown

@lormier st, here’s a general way to know if a service change is planned or unplanned:

If it’s on the (MTA)Planned Service Changes website, then it’s not an unplanned service change.

If it’s in the Service Status widget on (MTA).info, or tweeted from Subway Twitter or Bus Twitter, it’s an unplanned service change.

  • 2 weeks later...

A C F service is significantly disrupted while NYPD attempts to apprehend an unauthorized person in the track area at Canal St.

There is no northbound A C F service from Brooklyn into Manhattan.

There is extremely limited southbound A C F service in Midtown/Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Here are more details...

Manhattan

Northbound A C trains are holding in stations in Lower Manhattan.

Some southbound A C trains are ending at 59 St-Columbus Circle.

Many southbound C trains in Manhattan are running on the D line from 59 St-Columbus Circle to 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Ctr and then on the F line to 2 Av, the last stop.

Many southbound F trains are running on the F line from 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Ctr to 2 Av, the last stop.

Brooklyn

Most F trains are running only between Church Av and 4 Av-9 St. The last stop on all northbound F trains is 4 Av-9 St.

Northbound A C trains are holding in stations.

Reminder: G train service is suspended in both directions. (broken rail at Flushing Av)

The QBL east of Briarwood was also closed for a bit (until about 20 minutes ago) due to a switch issue so (F) riders must be having fun right now
