Side Rollsigns--> They use a sign changer. In other words, its a hex key that changes the letters, and destinations.

 

Front Rollsign--> I believe theres a button that scrolls the letters; Across for the R40S/R40M/R42/R44/R46, and Up & Down for the R68/R68A.

Yup the front sign is right across from the cab, behind the locked door...Seen it done on an R42...

no it's all just a piece of metal that is curved in order to put the strength into turning it.
