LexAveExp5 Posted May 2, 2012 #1 Posted May 2, 2012 i was just wondering why the union doesn't bring up these 2 issues in the press for public opinion support. first is terror security. how many years has the put off buying that software which is supposed to detect bombs hidden in bags on subway platforms??? yesterday ANOTHER guy was convicted for plotting to bomb the NYC subway!!! how many times have i seen that headline??? not only are the workers in danger but so is the public. the other issue is something i remember reading back on the old straphangers forum (its still around but nobody reads it lol). somebody once said that it's still on the books that the service standards state that when its not rush hour, they guarantee you a seat. obviously that hasn't actually happened in decades, but if its still on the books, why cant the union push that and force them to run twice the trains so everyone can sit?
KeystoneRegional Posted May 2, 2012 #2 Posted May 2, 2012 The union is now just a benefits group, they don't seem to care about safety and more oppurtunities, all they see is more cash and more benefits from the . The original purpose of unions are now gone sadly...
Den Posted May 3, 2012 #3 Posted May 3, 2012 The transit union is a joke of a union. It should be called TBG Transit Bullshitters Gang. They are so weak and have probably been infiltrated by people who are there just to fleece funds. They are pretty useless and dont get much done compred to other real unions. Its a facade is what it really is.
