Trainspotter Posted August 3, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 3, 2007 Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning Weekend of August 3 – August 5 Overnight Single Track in Effect on Blue Line O’Hare Branch This weekend CTA Blue Line trains on the O’Hare branch of the Blue Line will share a single track between Grand and Division from 12 a.m. (midnight Friday) to 9 a.m. Saturday morning and again from 12 a.m. (midnight Saturday) to 9 a.m. Sunday, August 5. Northbound customers boarding at Grand, Chicago and Division should board on the southbound side of the platform. The work is part of an aggressive new plan to eliminate slow zones. CTA is replacing deteriorated wooden rail ties with concrete rail ties which will eliminate slow zones along the tracks between Grand and Division and restore normal train speed to 55 mph.
