Vistausss Posted May 10, 2012 #1 Posted May 10, 2012 Is it just me or are the train announcements pronounced waaaay faster than those of the other lines? Even when the is running local it's pronounced soooo fast. If it helps anwer my question, I heard 'em in this video:
Guest Lance Posted May 10, 2012 #2 Posted May 10, 2012 That's because the lady doing the announcements spoke the stations, destinations, etc. very fast. Apparently, whatever quality control the has for these recordings (if one actually exists, that is) didn't mind or care that the announcements are quite fast in comparison to the other lines. On a personal note, I prefer these ones over the slower than molasses announcements on some of the lines, like the , and or the various reroute destination announcements.
Guest MTA Bus Posted May 10, 2012 #3 Posted May 10, 2012 Diane does all the announcements she does fast.
mark1447 Posted May 10, 2012 #4 Posted May 10, 2012 I've noticed that for years. I guess the MTA is trying different types of speed for better communication with the passengers?
Vistausss Posted May 10, 2012 Author #5 Posted May 10, 2012 @Lance: Ah, I understand. Thanks! (will hit the like-button in 24 hours when it's possible again)
