Im looking at the depot rosters...and there are lots of 6000 Orion V's and VintageSoul said that there at legal retirement age...so will there be a big bus order like what MTA did with the RTS and Orion VII NGs?

Yes, whoever wins BT&E.

Well, it can't be Orion, can it, since they're closing their doors.

Most likely it should be the XD40 because those LFS's are small buses and I don't think they are going to handle those busy routes very well(Ex Q20, Q12, S76 and so on).

Small? They're the same length as the damn XDs. They just have a seat or two less.

The LFS's have less space inside overall. The space inside is less because of the seat arrangements...

Ok, just a quick question, the LFSA is listed as being in the BT&E. I thought the MTA already purchased large amounts of LFSA's and that these are the only ones being purchased.

The 1200s are the BT&E units.

Most of the time on the Q27 Q83 and Q88 the seats that face each other only 3-4 people can fit there when there's suppose to be 8 that can sit and that back row it's hell getting out if your next to the window and those seats are all filled.

Ok hold on a minute, I've been at Staten Island enough to know that you can seat all the folks at the back, which is 17 people + have 3-4 standees at that section. The Xcelsiors isnt that much different in terms of space....I seen people come out of them transverse seats just fine and this is Staten Island I'm talking about, where buses are always crush loaded out of St. George! Sometimes it can be a bit of a pain but its not THAT bad....the Xcelsiors aint much different because you still gotta fight your way out from the upper level!

I understand what u mean but the XD40's I say has still a better seating except the back row. The LFS doesn't last that long before it's only standing room only. Now here in Queens the people always take up the seats due to amount of stuff and how big they are and that how I believe going with the LFS would be a bad decision to order. Orion's and XD40's were meant for space and can take the crowds better. But you have your opinion and I have mine so i guess there is no purpose to this thread so we should just wait and see what happens.

Bring back the RTS?

Millenium's RTS isn't coming until 2013, at the least, so it could replace the 1998 & 99 RTS's.

I believe that is for Express buses

There is also a demonstration local bus due in 2013, with a possible order clause.
