MORE than 140 of State Transit's "bendy'' buses will be restricted to a 50km/h limit while Volvo investigate a potential electronic fault.

 

State Transit said today that Volvo has advised them of a potential electronic fault with the turntable on some of their articulated (bendy) buses after a recent incident with one of the buses in Brisbane.

I'm assuming it's the B12BLEA's which are the problem. In Sydney the buses are located Port Botany, Tempe, Waverley, Leichhardt and Ryde Depots. Transperth also has a few along with few operators in Brisbane.

 

It would make for an intresting trip on the M40 doing 50 down the Warringah Freeway.

So what happens after they go over 50km/h?

I believe it's an eletronics fault causing the mechanism that keeps the rear end of the bus steady to fail.

Transperth operator Southern Coast Transit have removed the two they have from service
