PinePower Posted May 28, 2012 #1 Posted May 28, 2012 A video (not taken by me) of a Long Island Bus Rider's Union meeting. Drivers talk about the dangerous overcrowding on the N6 local (passengers standing in front of line) as well as maintanance and scheduling complaints.
User Posted May 28, 2012 #2 Posted May 28, 2012 Yeah, I saw this. But LI Bus Riders Union doesn't have enough power to do anything about it. NICE and Mangano have the power and it's all in their best interest. Exactly why I won't go to these meetings.
Joel Up Front Posted May 28, 2012 #3 Posted May 28, 2012 Is this Yuki's channel? Anyway, those B/O's do raise good points... that their employer and that giant jackass of an executive will ignore.
User Posted May 28, 2012 #4 Posted May 28, 2012 Anyway, those B/O's do raise good points... that their employer and that giant jackass of an executive will ignore. Bingo! YOU WIN!
Joel Up Front Posted May 28, 2012 #5 Posted May 28, 2012 I've taken the N6 plenty of times and for about a month in 2010. Those Orion VII NGs do not help at all... at least with enough persuading B/O's can get people moving back (or at least I do while he doesn't notice the eight foot gap in between me and the idiot blocking the rest of the bus off) on the Orion Vs. I just wish they'd clean the vents on the NGs.

PinePower Posted June 6, 2012 Author #8 Posted June 6, 2012 We'll meeting tomorrow night at 1199 Office Building at 100 Duffy Av near Hicksville, NY at 3FL near train station from 6 to 8pm. Problem is I got there at 6:50pm and the meeting was already starting to end. I had trouble getting into the building since the doors were locked and no one answered the buzzer. I would've been there at 6pm but the n20 was 30 minutes late. I'm glad I went this time but there's such a low turnout, it's too bad we dont have groups like the Straphangers trying to help us. But I guess bus riders on Long Island don't deserve that kind of attention (sigh)
N6 Limited Posted June 7, 2012 #11 Posted June 7, 2012 One of the issues is that it's held when people are still commuting from work.
KeystoneRegional Posted June 8, 2012 #12 Posted June 8, 2012 Another issue is that this meeting is done at one shot, it's not like the NICE meetings where there is a presentation repeat to the hour or by 45 minute or 30 minute intervals.
