error46146 Posted June 3, 2012 #3 Posted June 3, 2012 You can find MTA Subway & Bus ridership statistics here: http://www.mta.info/nyct/facts/ridership/#chart_b I don't think they would have any numbers for a route that just started this year - try checking back next year for that.
checkmatechamp13 Posted June 3, 2012 #4 Posted June 3, 2012 You can find MTA Subway & Bus ridership statistics here: http://www.mta.info/...ership/#chart_b I don't think they would have any numbers for a route that just started this year - try checking back next year for that. They didn't even separate the X27/37 & X28/38. I highly doubt they'll separate the X22A from the X22, especially since you have the trips that end at the Park & Ride, and those that continue to Page Avenue. I remember a poster on silive saying that there was 1 person on one of the buses pulling into the Park & Ride, so apparently it's not doing too well.
B35 via Church Posted June 4, 2012 #5 Posted June 4, 2012 Question is rather vague.... what is it that you specifically want to know ?
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted June 4, 2012 #6 Posted June 4, 2012 I would attribute the low ridership at the Park-And-Ride to the fact that riders apparently don't think it is worth it. Too risky... I mean if you park over there and miss the last bus for whatever reason then what??

I mean if you park over there and miss the last bus for whatever reason then what?? I could've sworn that the last trip of the day served both the Park & Ridge and Tottenville. Maybe I'm confusing it with the previous pattern. In any case, as I said from the beginning, the Park & Ride was built in a stupid place to begin with. If they had built it right at the Pleasant Plains SIR station, there would be no need to worry about which buses stop and which don't. But yeah, you're right that the threat of missing the last bus (or for that matter, the threat of having to wait another 30 minutes in case you miss your bus or it doesn't show up) is a real turnoff. I wonder how popular those buses are with Tottenville riders, though. I would imagine it would look attractive to bypass all the stops along Bloomingdale Road and everything.

That was kind of my point also... That it's sort of in a weird place. I mean if you look at that so called "Park-and-Ride" over by where the Western Beef is (although it technically isn't a Park-and-Ride), it's busy enough that apparently people feel okay parking their car there until the get home on the express bus.

Yeah, I guess that's a concern as well: If you're the only one getting off, you're on your own if anything happens while you're walking to the car. At least by Western Beef, it's a fairly busy area.
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted June 5, 2012 #10 Posted June 5, 2012 I would run the X22A like the following To Manhattan from Tottenville 5:15 AM, 6;15 AM, 7:10 AM, 7:35 AM, 7:54 AM, 8: 15 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM From Manhattan to To Tottenville 3:40PM, 4:14 PM, 4:30 PM, 5:00 PM, 5:23 PM, 5:41 PM, 6:29 PM, 7:00 PM, 8:00 PN
