Ideas for fantasy transit routes such as the San Andreas (SATA)and others

Here's where the Los Santos bus routes run:

#1: Ganton - Santa Maria Beach

#4: Los Santos Transit Center (LSTC) - LSX Airport

#5: Rodeo - Unity Station

#14: Glen Park - Willowfield

#20: Willowfield - LSX Airport

#27: LSTC - Ocean Docks

#32: Rodeo - Downtown Los Santos (via Richman and Mulholland) (weekdays only)

#39: LSTC - East Beach

#44: East Beach - Unity Station

#48: LSTC - Rodeo (weekdays only)

#53: Rodeo - LSX Airport

Routes #2 (weekdays), #13 and #60 are already mentioned on here, so that's about it for now.

Imagine if we created a Richman-Idlewood bus route. There would be a whole lot of riff-raff on that route, wouldn't it? Haha!!!

Your routes seem alright. I could care less about riff-raff. Hell in L.A. you have routes from Watts to Beverly Hills. You don't see anyone bitch about that.

This isn't San Andreas, but Liberty City. Found this on google not too long ago.

If I recall, there was a site date predated this one that is now defunct. Thanks for the link.

Yes, that's true. To be honest, the type of neighborhood, be it poor or affluent, doesn't matter to me. I just create bus routes as I see fit. For example, my #2 and #60 bus routes operate between Rodeo (affluent area) and East Los Santos (poor area).

By the way, guys, check out the fleet roster I created for SATA below:

San Andreas Transportation Authority (SATA) Bus Fleet Roster

I drew routes for Pokèmon games as a kid... that was good stuff

I was too busy battling & trying to complete the pokedex to even think about doing that for pkmn....

Imagine if we created a Richman-Idlewood bus route. There would be a whole lot of riff-raff on that route, wouldn't it? Haha!!!

lol.... aside from the undesirables, I don't see many people taking that north of "mulholland drive" (which is where richman lies) either way....

Well, Different strokes for different folks..... You or whoever else don't have to factor in "riff raff"....

I think it makes creating these routes a little more fun & challenging, not just drawing up lines anywhere for the sake of doing so....

Wow. That Liberty City system is probably TOO dense.

(Plus, it's hard trying to look at those route maps one by one. :P)

Never played Liberty City.... my lil brother has the game though....

if GTA:SA didn't have places like tierra robada, flint county, bone county, red county, and whetstone, one could create just as an extensive system like dude did there for liberty city....

checkin out the link on that side did give me an idea though.... if I have the time, I'll make a flash movie where you can punch in the route number for the GTA:SA routes& it'll show the destination sign for that route (instead of creating individual .gif destination signs).... This is something I had wanted to do for the real MTA routes a couple years back, but never got around to it.....

Routes #2 (weekdays), #13 and #60 are already mentioned on here, so that's about it for now.

Rather than comment on each one, I'll do it like this:

- Hmm... You have quite a bit of routes going to rodeo, I see.... I'm only going to have 2 local routes serving rodeo.... one directly to the airport (no intermediate stops) & the other'll just go on to serve market (the area) & conference center.... I'll probably have a couple express routes in rodeo, to areas in san fierro & las venturas....

- What it looks like you have your #4 doing, is what I'm working on with my market - los santos airport route.... it's going to go from the rail station, encircling downtown los santos, and then dive onto the mulholland intersection to serve the airport..... I was driving such a route yesterday in the game...

- Instead of the "LSTC", I'm using market station, unity station, and that little lane where you see a lot of ppl. in beach attire walkin around in playa del seville (across the street, just east of the los santos forum), as major terminals for the local bus system... The LSTC as you call it, I'll reserve as a terminal for the express buses that enter los santos..... I'll have maybe one or two local buses serving the LSTC to go on to other areas; a midpoint if you will.....

- I don't know how you're routing these things, but have you ever thought of combining your 14 & your 20 ?

Guess what I'm trying to figure out is, where are you terminating buses in Willowfield?

- If your 44 runs from east beach, to los flores, east los santos, jefferson, idlewood, en route to unity station, that's a good idea....

- What you have your 53 doing, is exactly I was thinking about yesterday as I was drawing up my 88 route (which is now finished... I'll post a capture of the map like I did for my #2 if you'd like).... Regardless, thanks...

I'll even keep the route number you chose & give you the credit.

1) You know, that's a good idea. I could combine the 14 and 20 routes because they terminate on the east side of the train tracks (SATA Railroad) in Willowfield from Glen Park and LSX Airport, respectively. Combining these routes into one would allow a one-seat ride from Glen Park to LSX Airport, while still serving Willowfield. It would be a more uniform route at that.

2) The 53 route serves Rodeo, Verona Beach and LSX Airport via the major roadway (I call Los Santos Avenue) in southwestern Los Santos. Speaking of Rodeo, I might cut the 60 route back from there to terminate at Market Station instead.

3) No problem, bro. :)

Created a couple new routes I've been driving in the game (know em by heart w/o looking at the printout).....

I'll list them after someone replies after this reply (as to not double-post) ...

In any event, this one's my fav' so far:

#88 (local/limited): Temple/Vinewood - Los Santos intl airport (upper level only)

screenshot of map of route:

167m.gif

I didn't draw in direction arrows for any of the routes yet, so I know it looks confusing as hell....

The dotted line you see there is the 88 limited segment - It goes nonstop from conference center to los santos coliseum/terminal, then from there straight to the airport..... only the 88 local serves pershing sq., little mexico, el corona/unity station & willowfield....

===================

Kmilton, have you created any routes lately ?

A project I've been working on since 2008: the Redpit Island Transit Authority (RITA, for short). It's a Toronto-esque city with a vast transit system. Most of the buses and all of the streetcars are based off models operated at some point by the TTC, and the subway fleet is a mix of TTC and MTA stock. Here is the current November roster:

Bus:

1988 New Flyer Industries D40 (88-9060 – 88-9119)

Currently in service: 54

1990 New Flyer Industries D40 (90-9120 - 90-9149)

Currently in service: 50 (all)

2000-2001 New Flyer Industries D60LF (00-9300 – 00-9399, 01-9400-01-9449)

Currently in service: 150 (all)

Number in service: 40 (all)

2009-2012 Redpit Car Company RR1 (6400-6475)

Number in service: 76 (currently being built and delivered)

And now, to answer some possible questions:

Q: What kind of car is the RR1?

A: It's a freelance design, invented by myself. They largely resemble the Bombardier T1s, but they run in single units and are not nearly as reliable.

Q: Do MTA A division cars (R62/A) run alongside B division cars (R32)?

A: Yes, yes they do.

Q: Would this not cause issues, with a substantial gap between the car and platform?

A: Yes, yes it would. Solution: the RITA specified for Bombardier and Kawasaki to attach "running boards" to the sides of the trains, by the doors. At first I thought this was some crazy foamer's dream but a friend of mine pointed out some real transit systems which did much the same, namely Berlin and Madrid. The former installed wooden running boards to their narrower stock during times of economic hardship; the difference between Berlin and Redpit Island is that Redpit's stock had metal boards attached and they were added while the cars were being built. Also, all NYC-based cars are built to TTC standards; different voltage and gauge.

Q: Was purchasing such a large amount of D60LFs an intelligent move by the transit agency?

A: No, no it was not.

Q: How many subway lines do you have?

A: Four full ones: Broadview/Bay Street, Sunnybrook, Flushing and Downtown Express. There are also two shuttle routes; East End and West End.

Q: What lengths of trains does the system run?

A: 51 ft. cars run in 8 car (R142A) or 9 car (R62A) trains. 60 ft. cars run in 8 car trains. 75 ft. cars run in 6 car trains. Every station platform is 510 ft. long.

Since the thread has been dormant for some time I'll add something.

Below you'll see my "system map" for GTA: SA, showcasing how extensive my sytstem actually is. This was done in MS Paint. Could be of better quality, but I did it in 15 minutes and I think it's self explanatory.

Any criticism regarding the "routes"?
