Authorities say a southern Indiana woman drove her car onto railroad tracks and the vehicle became stuck in gravel just outside a tunnel, halting train service for hours.

Indiana State Police say officers began searching for the motorist after a caller told the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department her sister was involved in a crash and her car was on railroad tracks somewhere.

Twenty-two-year-old April Hill of Greenville was found “barefoot, bleeding and covered in mud” a short time later climbing out of an embankment. She’s charged with operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 or higher. She also charged with disturbing a train bed.

She was being held Sunday in the Floyd County Jail in New Albany. It’s not clear whether she has an attorney.
