NewFlyer 230 Posted July 27, 2012 Share #4 Posted July 27, 2012 I believe it was an R42. They look very similar but the R40M was retired in 2009.

We'd have to see a picture to know! Do you know the car number. R40M's are cars from 4450 to 4549.
Grand Concourse Posted July 27, 2012 Share #7 Posted July 27, 2012 The only R40M around is the one connected to an R42. ie: Willy B pair.

Art Vandelay Posted July 27, 2012 Share #9 Posted July 27, 2012 It still exists, as does an R40M pair. Either way, both have not seen service since 2009.

Well this guy is new so he probably doesn't know all the correct names of the train's and he just needs it explained to him. When you were new you probably were confused and wanted to learn. Fan Railer Posted July 28, 2012 Share #16 Posted July 28, 2012 It's just some dude who mistook an R42 for an R40M, not that they're so hard to tell apart or anything . Besides, it's common knowledge now that 99% of the R40M's are sitting dozens of feet below sea level and covered with coral.
