I'm in November 27th class just got done doing photo ID  pass.

Goodluck everyone

Questions:

I'm sure in orientation they are going to go over the 401K /457 and stuff.

Is it wise  to have 401K + the pension? Or should I do 457 +pension? Never dealt eith any of this with my prior employers.

Like somebody said earlier, it wouldn't be a bad idea to do some research (401 vs. 457), this way you know what you're dealing with...

It kinda sucks the classes are larger and the training is shorter..it is a dangerous  job after All.  But big classes means more opportunities  for more ppl

Looks like the MTA is trying to promote 74 Track Workers to Track Supervisor, on 11/7 they posted it to the employment website. Looks like we are going to see some steady movement on this list in the future.

Hey guys, just curious to know when this list was established? And how far along are they on the list

Click here for the list. Normally a list is good for four [4] years, however they'll probably extend it by at least another year.

You can go down there as soon as you're cleared. No need to call. Depending on when you took your last drug test, you might have to take another one, since they're only valid for thirty [30] calendar days.

For those who have already finished their first week of training, are we given a uniform allowance during that first week?

2 vests, hardhat, 2 pairs of boots, flashlight, whistle, Goggles, safety glasses, gloves, rain coat and boots, ear protectors and a skull cap thing

Thanks for the info Ebenz. I have friends who are bus operators and I believe they get an annual allowance for their uniform but I guess Track dept. is different since they give out the uniform at orientation.
