Questions about Railfanning the M1 and M3 on the MNRR

I want to be able to photograph the M1s and M3s on the MNRR. What lines do they run on and what times can they appear and how frequently they can appear? Thanks in Advance for answering this question!

They run on the harlem and hudson line.

 

Best bet is to go to 125th street during rush hour or just before rush hour.

Yeah, try during the rush on the Harlem and Hudson lines. You might see one or two trains come down the Hudson deadheading to Grand Central before the rush.

Amen, Harlem-125 at rush hour is the essence of Metro North. You'll see just about everything they have coming at you in waves.
