CDTA Posted January 6, 2013 Share #76 Posted January 6, 2013 Coney Island-bound trains skip Avenue U and Avenue X [/color] Weekend, 6 AM to 6 PM, Sat and Sun, Jan 12 - 13 What work is causing this G/O? On a side note, this means we get views of F trains taking the slip switch from the express to the local track at Avenue X in addition to running express via Culver Viaduct and Bergen Lower during a separate G/O. I would assume work being done on either Avenue U or X on the CI platform/side.
Guest Lance Posted February 19, 2013 Share #77 Posted February 19, 2013 Flatbush Av-bound trains run express from 14 St to Chambers St Late Nights, 12:01 AM to 5:30 AM, every night until further notice. For Christopher, Houston, Canal and Franklin Sts, take the instead. • Transfer between and trains at 14 St or Chambers St. What's going on here? Does it have anything to do with South Ferry?
RollOver Posted February 20, 2013 Share #78 Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) I doubt... Southbound service is still normal, why not the ...The southbound crossing from local to express is now at 14th instead of Chambers for god who knows, doubling waiting time from 15 to 20 minutes for southbound local customers from 14th to Chambers... I just wonder why this..... Edited February 20, 2013 by RollOverMyHead
RestrictOnTheHanger Posted February 20, 2013 Share #79 Posted February 20, 2013 I wonder if they're working on the crossover between the downtown tracks north of Chambers. Besides any ridership changes, seems to be a logical answer. On a similar note: Wakefield-bound trains skip 79 St and 86 St Late Nights, 12:15 AM to 5 AM, Tue to Fri, until Mar 22 Take the instead. • Transfer between and trains at 72 St or 96 St. _________________________ Only the is affected, wonder why.

superdrive1 Posted March 3, 2013 Share #86 Posted March 3, 2013 Gone ahead in time a bit, this service change stood out more than the rest! No trains between 3 Av-149 St and 135th St Free shuttle buses provide alternate service Weekend, 11:30 PM Fri to 5 AM Mon, Mar 22 - 25 Service operates in two sections: 1. Between 241 St and 3 Av-149 St 2. Between the 148 St Station and Flatbush Av (Trains skip 145 St in both directions) Shuttle buses operate along three routes: 1. Between 3 Av-149 St and 135 St 2. Between 3 Av-149 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse 3. Between 149 St-Grand Concourse and 135 St Transfer between trains and buses at 3 Av-149 St and 135th St. Only logical reason I can think of for this is work in the 149th St Tunnel, obviously skips 145 St due to the short platforms there

Eric B Posted March 5, 2013 Share #89 Posted March 5, 2013 Wow, the modernization of the signal system at Roosevelt Av, 71 Av and Union Tpke (the remaining old towers on the line). Is this a replacement with a master tower? I've always wondered about over there. I think I may have hard of such a project, but no one was sure where it would be.

superdrive1 Posted March 12, 2013 Share #92 Posted March 12, 2013 Gone ahead in time again... Service operates in 2 sections: 1. Between 179 St and Jay St-MetroTech, and via the to/from Hoyt-Schermerhorn 2. Between Stillwell Av and Bergen St, and via the to/from Bedford-Nostrand Avs Late Nights, 11:45 PM to 5 AM, Mon to Thu, Mar 25 - 28 • Transfer at Hoyt-Schermerhorn to continue your trip. Looking at maps, the way the Hoyt-Schermerhorn turn around may work (I think) seems to be to run the train up to Clinton-Washington Aves on the express track (seeing as that line is local through there at late-night), change ends, run it through a siding between the express tracks between Clinton-Washington Aves and Lafayette Ave and then rejoin the Manhattan-bound express line into Hoyt-Schermerhorn, seems most logical, unless the MTA have other ideas, which given them they might!
