I wont be surprised if they use a  (B) layup on the  (D) that weekend. Since, I remember seeing a R68A on the northern  (D) during that G.O.

That probably won't happen because it's not running in two sections. They didn't even use any (B) Train layups when it went to Chambers Street except for that one Saturday.

(F) Select Jamaica-bound trains skip 75 Av, Briarwood, Sutphin Blvd and terminate at Parsons Blvd

Rush Hours, 6 AM to 10 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM, Mon to Fri, Oct 17 - Nov 18

For service to these stations, 169 St and 179 St, transfer to a Jamaica-bound (F) at 71 Av, Union Tpke, or

Parsons Blvd.

• Please allow additional travel time.

They apparently like to keep full service at 74 Street unless otherwise impossible to maintain a full transfer between the Flushing and Queens Blvd lines, especially with the (E) running via 63rd Street.

They reubilt the interlocking for that purpose, glad to see it being put to use

That is just odd...

There's no (A)(C) via Rutgers that weekend, so 2 Ave is probably a better terminal this time rather than Chambers. Edited by RestrictOnTheHanger

  • 2 weeks later...

Why oh why can't the (4) go to Bowling Green instead of Brooklyn Bridge this weekend? Does it have to do South Ferry since the (1) isn't running there either?? I'm only asking because many passengers can transfer at Fulton Street instead of taking the (J) at BB.

The loop probably isn't available.

At least when the (4) runs to Brooklyn Bridge it's making all local stops so you can also transfer to the (A)(C)(D) and (F) at Bleecker St, and the (N)(Q)(R) at Canal.

Apparently the (E) is running via 6th Avenue/63rd Street northbound from West 4th Street this Saturday due to another G.O stating that passengers must use the (D) Train instead for 23rd Street and 50th Street. I can see a whole bunch of confuse passengers this weekend.

Just too many confusing GO's this weekend.  It will be a heavy riding one due to many Halloween parties and events going on.  NYCT had to opportunity to keep it simple but refused to.  Why?  The arrogance by the suits to get the work done by the end of the year, plus with the NYC Marathon next Sunday (and start of the new schedule of jobs for the t/o's and c/r's) there will be virtually none next Sunday, except the 24/7 long term ones.

They can easily do the more extensive and confusing (from a passenger standpoint ones) on subsequent weeks leading up to Thanksgiving.

The problem is (besides it being the start of the new pick) is the likelihood NYC Marathon officials insisted on minimal GO's (if any at all) the day of the marathon as many tourists are in town for that.  That takes preference over Halloween parties that don't involve nearly as many tourists.

If the Breeders' Cup has been at Belmont Park this weekend, THEN I would agree the GO's should have been cut back this weekend.

That didn't take long...

R.png No service at Whitehall St, Court St, Jay St-MetroTech and DeKalb Av
Trains run express in both directions between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and 36 St
Bay Ridge-bound trains skip 45 and 53 Sts

Late Nights, 11:45 PM Fri to 5 AM Mon, Nov 25 - 28

In simple english: Late night (R) shuttle terminates at Atlantic. SB trains run express between Atlantic and 59th, and NB trains run express between 36th and Atlantic.

Also, the (D) will run local overnight that weekend.

What the hell is the point of that?

I don't know. And they took it down from the website, which is good because the advisory needs some proofreading anyway.

Look what's coming back tho:

5.png Trains run every 20 minutes between Dyre Av and Bowling Green

Weekend, Saturday, Nov 26

Not a huge problem unless you're travelling within Lexington. The beefed up weekend (2) service should be up and running by then, and those trains will be running out of Dyre that weekend.

Thankfully, it's only for that Saturday.

Possibly work in the Montague tunnels. With Whitehall St out as a terminal, Atlantic becomes the next viable turning point. However with the track setup at Atlantic Av, trains cannot turn around on the local tracks, hence the bidirectional express run.

I'm more surprised the (5) is actually running up Dyre Ave at all.
