I can see alot of confusion at the 23rd Street and 50th Street 8th Avenue Stations on the weekend of the 16th (Not because of the rerouted (D) Train).

I can see alot of confusion at the 23rd Street and 50th Street 8th Avenue Stations on the weekend of the 16th (Not because of the rerouted (D) Train).

Though, it probably doesn't help. It won't matter much for riders heading uptown as the (D) is local through 125 Street. Downtown, not so much, especially with the (D) terminating at 2 Avenue and the (E) pretending to be an (F) train.

The real confusing issue for the passengers (And it happened when it was done the Saturday on Halloween Weekend) was with no (A)(C)(E) service at 23rd Street and 50th Street and the (D) Train stopping at those two stations instead. The (A)(C) is express on 8th Avenue that weekend btw.

Some updates for the last weekend of this month:

(E) via 63 St, no service South of 34 St-Herald Square

(F) via 53 St (both directions), Brooklyn-bound via Cranberry

(G) Split service at Bedford-Nostrand; No service south of Hoyt St

(J) No service between Chambers and Broad Sts

(M) No service between Essex and Broadway Junction; shuttle service only between Met and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs

(Q) Brooklyn Bound via Bway Local and Montague tunnel

And for those who fancy unusual express runs:

(2) South Ferry bound service runs express from Dyre to E 180 St (Yes, you read that right). Also, we have uptown (2) and (5) service going express from 3 Av-149 to E 180 St.

Note: The latter is not strange to most of us here, but I threw it in so if anyone is traveling along the Dyre line, they know what they'll be dealing with.

Again, these changes are for the weekend of September 30th.

As usual, too much going on at one time. Plus I am an advocate for getting similar projects done

done on consecutive weekends. I don't like closing Sixth Ave. for example, a weekend or 2 at a time, then work elsewhere, then go back to Sixth Ave. Close it for consecutive weekends and get the work done.

The passengers are confused because completely different stuff happens each weekend.

And yes, taking both the C and E off the Eighth Ave. local at the same time and giving them the D instead is even more confusing to the public than closing down the station in that direction, period.

One puzzling thing about this segment is why it requires so much maintenance. It’s shut down pretty often according to my perception.

The Article is kinda misleading because this is part of the (Q) Fasttrack:

When the GO starts, there will still be a decent amount of R142's on the line.

It was the same case back in July when the (5) was only running from 86th Street to Flatbush. They had enough R142 cars on the line and the (5) didn't borrow anything that weekend.
