The Real Posted August 23, 2012 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2012 Yup... Has BEEN kiboshed The 6000-Series Orion 05.501s will remain as they are. The new Nova Bus fleet numbers are now set to be #5770-5999, 1290-1387. OH, and there is a spec change in the seats on the 1290 and up batch. That is all... (I told you guys the MTA changes their minds like MOST of us change our underwear....DAILY!)
RailBus63 Posted August 23, 2012 Share #2 Posted August 23, 2012 This always made more sense than renumbering the O5's.
Blitz Posted August 23, 2012 Share #3 Posted August 23, 2012 All of the new LFSA's should have been numbered from 1290 up...
NewFlyer 230 Posted August 23, 2012 Share #4 Posted August 23, 2012 Yep there is nothing in the 1290-2000's. Maybe the BT&E winner will be number in the 1300-1500's
depotofrelax Posted August 23, 2012 Share #5 Posted August 23, 2012 So the Orion 5 wont be renumbered #6000 - #6097. Ok . What roster will Gun Hill Depot will receive of Nova Bus LFS that #6000 - #6097 ( renumber to #1290 - #1387.) Which Depot will receive next Nova Bus LFS articulated batch right after West Farms Depot fully received & completed recieve #5936 - #5987? ( lil confused.) Now that is the confusion part. aemoreira81 Posted August 23, 2012 Share #8 Posted August 23, 2012 The fleet should have started at 1290 from the start. 1290 to 2039 is open.

The Orion 5s are already numbered 6000-6097. They were gonna be 9700-9797 but that changed. I would assume the order is the same, just the bus number is the only thing that changed

MHV9218 Posted August 23, 2012 Share #13 Posted August 23, 2012 I'm embarrassed I actually heard the title in my head as the noise of emergency brakes going off... Appreciate the info though, definitely begs the question why they couldn't have just started at 1290 in the first place.
NewFlyer 230 Posted August 23, 2012 Share #14 Posted August 23, 2012 It wouldnot make sense for them to be renumbered anyway because in 2-3 years these buses are retiring. They will be the last Orion V's in NYC because the Orion V 1996 and Orion V CNG's and Beelines are retiring.

Future ENY OP Posted August 23, 2012 Share #17 Posted August 23, 2012 Has West Farms received their allotment. Last I saw I think they have 5962. But these LFSA deliveries are coming in early. I see that 126th is next, if I'm reading this correctly. A new set of bus moves for the month of September.
