Not only that Academy buses were also going there. And on some of those buses there was like 3 standees or something with all the seats being taken

UPDATE ON X81: I spoke to a representative of the MTA, and I asked him about the X81, and he said it was discontinued. So there will be no more X81. My it rest in Peace. It appears that the X81 was not totally discontinued after it last ran but in 2010 it was discontinued for good I suppose. It was a service cut that was never told.

 

 

I kinda guessed that because nobody has never, ever seen this bus in service. Also, the MTA never mentioned it when they mention the X80.

I have seen it once in 07, but it used RTS buses rather than LFSA's.

I love the X80 I never knew 126th Street had an express route until early 2000s. Tht line only runs on special event days for Randall's island
