PinePower Posted September 7, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2012 I really dont know what's going in with the CL's but I noticed several 319's last Wednsday were 77xx buses. I wasn't happy to have one pull in for the 7:30am 319 from PABT with a nice line of beach goers, had 7783 it was a crowded ride, all seats taken, fortunately no one else got on otherwise they'd be standing! Along with myself, many others disembarked at Toms River. The bus itself rode like crap, I was glad to see the inspection station in Herbertsville was closed, because I dunno if this thing would've passed. In Toms River I saw another 77XX on a 319 to NYC with a nice line of people too, I bet some had to stand! After all it was a busy holiday week, it was quite suprising to see NJT put 40 footers on such busy routes. I'd rather they use a D4500 without a restroom, the buses do get a break at Toms River where ppl can use it, worst case scenario a rest stop. NYCRailfan523 Posted September 7, 2012 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2012 All buses should be long...the result = crowding.
553 Bridgeton Posted September 7, 2012 Share #3 Posted September 7, 2012 There is a shortage of cls with restrooms. 7167-7187. Is not enough for the summer 319. Njt didnt order enough cls, so in turn every summer until they order more you will see D4000s with rr on the 319 in addition to the cls with rr. 7783-84 are here at Egg Harbor. Non restrooms buses are banned from the 319 unless its a emergency.
Majestic412 Posted September 10, 2012 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2012 Egg Harbor and Meadowlands both operate the Rt 319 line. 7783 - 7784 are @ Egg Harbor. 7786 - 7787 - 7788 are @ Meadowlands. Those are extra MCIs w/restrooms they use when they run out of 7167 - 7187.

Even had to stop at a rest stop for people needing to go to the bathroom when I told Control.
GojiMet86 Posted September 11, 2012 Share #6 Posted September 11, 2012 That's quite a long ride on the 319 if it means that a commuter bus needs to have a bathroom.
mfs NJT459 Posted September 11, 2012 Share #7 Posted September 11, 2012 they usually don't put Restroom buses on 319 short trips to/from Atlantic City to Wildwood (Cape May during the summer), as if its a branch off the 552... during the non-summer schedule, there's one restroom bus on the 319 from Wildwood to Atlantic City to New York, 7:49 AM daily

mfs NJT459 Posted September 14, 2012 Share #9 Posted September 14, 2012 The second one, if you look at the timetable, is just Wildwood-Ocean Drive-Ocean City-Atlantic City, passengers would have to change buses with a continuous trip ticket to Toms River-NY
brokecrazy Posted September 24, 2012 Share #10 Posted September 24, 2012 I wanted to ride the entire 317 from Asbury park to Philly , a 4 hour run, but there is no toilet on the bus, so I can't do it.

A few of the 317 drivers will stop along the route for a bathroom break....since this route is never fully loaded.
mfs NJT459 Posted September 26, 2012 Share #12 Posted September 26, 2012 Not to mention how long the bus may end up waiting for an escort at Ft Dix If there should be restrooms, I think Newton Ave should trade a few MCIs for Fairview Garage's restroom MCIs, because I do not see any Fairview route that needs restrooms, sure they pop on some local routes (156, 159)
