Nothing involves the R143s being moved to the C. R143s have CBTC, R179s will not upon delivery. R179s therefore will not be able to run on the L.

 

However, the order being mostly 4 car sets is not a mixup. 260 in 4 car sets. 40 in 5 car sets.

Yes, the C will be getting R179s.

Can 207th Street barn maintain them though? I know the overhaul shop works on NTTs but the barn doesn't.

If they can't, I suspect they will have to make whatever modifications are necessary... 480 foot trains do solve the length issue though.

length isn't really the issue, HAVAC support is the main issue. Look at what they had to do at East 180th St and Corona.
