nostalgia Posted September 19, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 19, 2012 Tonight's storm has made a mess of operations. There are downed trees on the New Haven line with a 40 mph restriction on the entire line. Amtrak is impacted and running late. MTA website shows a mess on Hudson and Harlem lines as well. nostalgia Posted September 19, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted September 19, 2012 Inclement Weather Of Course... Today wasn't a great day I wonder what tomorrow's morning rush will look like. Rush will probably be the wrong word.
Joel Up Front Posted September 19, 2012 Share #4 Posted September 19, 2012 The only thing that happened with the LIRR before 7:00 was a few eastbound trains ending up late. Oh, and the last Ronkonkoma and Huntington trains which arrive literally 5 minutes before each other being FUBAR. Metro-North got the rain hours before it even got cloudy here, so it shouldn't be too bad.
NYCRailfan523 Posted September 19, 2012 Share #5 Posted September 19, 2012 Well, what can I do, is wait until the trees are removed. New York City had bad weather today.
Truckie Posted September 19, 2012 Share #6 Posted September 19, 2012 Tonight's storm has made a mess of operations. There are downed trees on the New Haven line with a 40 mph restriction on the entire line. Amtrak is impacted and running late. MTA website shows a mess on Hudson and Harlem lines as well. There were downed trees on all three lines and a 40 mph speed restriction in effect across the board due to slip slide conditions. Not much anyone could have done about it, it's mother nature. Sure, the commuters were not happy about it but given the alternative, MNR did what they had to do to keep the trains running.
MF Ensembleson Posted October 3, 2012 Share #7 Posted October 3, 2012 Can I ask what happened? I'm in Wisconsin, so I'm not to familiar with the weather over there!
Joel Up Front Posted October 3, 2012 Share #8 Posted October 3, 2012 There was a massive storm a few weeks ago that messed with the LIRR. It happens a lot but it normally gets fixed before the next day's rush.
