beelinefan Posted September 21, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 21, 2012 A tractor caught fire in the garage at Far Rockaway Depot today. The FDNY responded and quickly put out the fire. http://nycfire.net/f...ic,18655.0.html Unknown if any buses were near the burning tractor. Blitz Posted September 22, 2012 Share #5 Posted September 22, 2012 We use modified tractors inside the depot to push around dead buses (when all the forklifts are being used) and pull the mobile air compressor. Some tractors are also equipped with a 24 volt charging system with 2 bus batteries to attempt to start dead buses.
Far Rock Depot Posted September 22, 2012 Share #6 Posted September 22, 2012 Whoa! And I'm actually not surprised about the quick response since there's a fire house right across the street. Question, did it happen in the old section or new?
