mtattrain Posted October 5, 2012 Share #26 Posted October 5, 2012 Here is my guess as to the re-numbered artics: 5281-4704, 5283-4705, 5285-4706, 5291-4707, 5295-4708, 5296-4709 I think 1 or 2 5300-series got renumbered...

Nova RTS 9147 Posted October 6, 2012 Share #28 Posted October 6, 2012 This must be for the NEXT batch of artics, but lets think guys, there is only 7 numbers available in the 4700 Series and that is 4703-4709. 4700-4702 is occupied by Orion 7s and 4710-4799 will be occupied by XD60s. So there must be something special about a couple of these artics to put them into a number series with only 7 numbers avail. Could this have something to do with the XD60 order and Newflyer trying to get back into the MTA's good graces?
SevenEleven Posted October 6, 2012 Share #29 Posted October 6, 2012 Could this have something to do with the XD60 order and Newflyer trying to get back into the MTA's good graces? No. The 4700s were former 5200/5300s renumbered to avoid a fleet number conflict with the LFSAs. The LFSAs after 5986 will be numbered 5253-5363. http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/37351-fleet-happenings/
